Lecavalier

You have Svitov who needs to play, as he has been amazing the last 2 home games in Hamilton.

Richards is just a great player.

What would it take for Lecavalier, i know its a lot, but what type of package would T-Bay look for?

Lecavalier, no. Richards may be available if he doesn't start playing up to the contract signed this past summer.

Firstly, Canadiens fans only want (desperately and pathetically) their hometown boy and perceived messiah Lecavalier, so don't even bring up Richards. They're not interested. Second, Brad's not going anywhere unless his slump lasts throughout the season and even into the next season (whenever that may be). He's a part of the core, so for at least the next couple of calendar years, the Rimouski Bros. will not be separated.

habitants 9_4, maybe you can shift your interest to another Montreal native who was supposed to be a superstar and may be available for what your Habs are capable of offering. Namely, Alexander Daigle, who may have finally resurrected his career this year in Minnesota.

Hey at least we're not seeing them every day now, right?! I leave it up to you all to figure out what threads I want to blackball. Maybe we should have a poll...

No offense to you, habitants9_4, but this is a sore, sore subject for a lot of Bolts fans. We saw three threads a day on this topic for months on end, so most of us really don't find it fun or interesting to talk about anymore.

The very thought of trading Vinny so we can give Svitov his icetime scares me.

Lecavalier is a franchise player, you don't trade those.

Svitov on the other hand, would TB part ways with him? I really like him as a player and we have no players in our organization like him.

Its pretty obvious, but I wanted to know several things...But i GUESS YOU GUYS WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT.

#1 I wanted to know his value to the close Tampa followers.

#2 I want him in my fantasy league, and need to offer a good package.

#3 I live to see what it takes for a guy like him.

What do you think of....

Ribeiro, Koivu, Quintal and Hainsey for Lecavalier and Kubina

Obviously it would never happen, but what do you think of the offer.

The only player worth thinking of is ribiero, who's value isn't sky high yet because he must show he's consistent. Koivu's value is very low.
I don't believe you habs fans.
You want a superstar, but you don't want to give any valuable return.
What you think every GM in the league is a moron except Gainey?

Going to the point.
There's no package that the Canadiens could make to trade for a star like Lecavalier. The only way is to largely overpay, which will still be hard.

Vinny is my absolute favourite player, but franchise players have more then 17pts in 27games. WTH is going on with him?

I don't know if anyone in here lives in Toronto, but since August Bill Watters (assistent GM for the Leafs from 1991-2003) does a daily radio show called Leafs Lunch, today (and hes talked about this deal before) he talked about a deal that almost happened involving Lecavalier back when Dudley was still the Tampa Bay GM.

The Leafs would have gotten Lecavalier in exchange for Nik Antropov, Tomas Kaberle, Janos Hoglund (a player Dudley has always liked) and the Leafs first round pick in 2002 (Alexander Steen). Both GM's (Dudley and Quinn) as well as the leafs owners all signed the deal, but the Tampa Bay owner (sorry, I don't know his name) refused to give up Lecavalier and blocked the trade. Lecavalier almost became a Maple Leaf.

I didn't know which actual players were involved on the Leafs' end of things. I've never seen them named before. Very interesting.

I had heard those names before, but didn't know the 2002 1st rounder was also thrown in. Nice sweetener.

As a Leafs fan I'm sort of glad that trade didn't go down.

Not so much that I don't like Lecavalier, he's one of my favorite players in the league, but it's usually hard to win a trade when you give up so many different assets in a trade. Those kinds of Lindroseque trades never really work out.

Heard the same deal, minus Steen. I agree with Ex. Nice sweetener.

However, I still wouldn't have done it.

Yeah keep saying that, if it makes you feel better. Truth is your coach is a complete idiot and I can't wait for Vinny to get out of there. At the end of the year one of them will be gone, I hope its Vinny. TB never gives him any talent to play along side and they expect superstar numbers. Torts is the dumbest coach in the NHL, I'm sure there is at least a dozen better in the AHL.

Good thing he's not the GM then eh?

They're both culpable. Vinny's NOT playing as hard as he is capable of and Torts isn't handing out discipline on this team on an even basis. Feaster now will have to arbitrate the situation between the two.

You're dreaming if you think he's going anywhere though.

I dunno but both seems to hate each others ... so one will have to leavue IMO .. and like the Caps with Jagr ... i think it's most likely to be the coach ... unless the bolts start to play like they can
