I hope the team can build off that strong game vs. Buffalo and get this road trip started out strong.

These long West Coast road trips have generally been the starting point for classic Thrashers 2nd half collapses.

My outlook on the Western road trip

Colorado - Win
Vancouver - OT Loss
Edmonton - Win
Calgary - Win

Hopefully Im right, that would be 7/8 possible points, and hopefully get us a little ahead of Tampa and Carolina.

Ah yes, the first stop of the Ringling Road Trip. This is probably the most important stretch of games for the team. We have to win at least half of the games on this road trip, in particular, the games against Ottawa and Carolina. I'd be happy to go 2 and 2 in the games against the Avs, Canucks, Oilers, and Flames. Getting as many points out of those games is very important, since in a sense, they're "free points" since these opponents aren't vying for position in our conference.

Kari Lehtonen will be starting tonight against Colorado. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Oh joy. Hartley still doesn't play Moose.

Bob promises to start Moose in one of the Alberta games. That would be 15 in a row for Kari. Long, but not torturous.

Kozlov

Lehtonen was a wall during that last Colorado onslaught.

Powerplay time. Kovalchuk should get at least one bomb from the point this game past Theo.

Best period the Thrashers have had in a long time. Not a good moment for the Iron Man on that play.

I doubt we see Theodore in the 2nd.

Ha......Exelby with the goal

Kozzy's goal was nice, he basically flipped it into the open far side of the net from the right circle because Jose wasn't covering the angle right and he was screened by his own defenseman. He's looking less "post-concusion" tonight and has a lot of jump in his step.

Metro's doing well with Hoslov, and Haydar's doing okay too (better than Slater). Boulton is better than Kapanen, imo...always has been this year.

The D looks solid, but Andy's looking really slow despite making some good plays. He's had a few good shots on net.

We're finally doing what I've been clamoring for.
1.) FORECHECK!!!
2.) No dump and chase
3.) Go behind the opponent's net so as to give it to our points. We're finally using the points again!

The most important thing is the forecheck - it's like the theory of playing for field position in football. Make it harder for them to break out, and you won't have to work as hard on defense. Before we were always collapsing. This started to change in the Buffalo game. It's a very good sign.

I think HiBob should give Metro the road trip to work with Hossa and Kozlov and see if he can stick between them.

Looks like the boys are happy to be away from the nagging wives. metro has impressed. His work set up Hossa's goal, which by the way, was a premiere goal scorer's goal.

They've chased Jose, here's to hoping they can enjoy a laugher after so many tight games.

While feeling good at the moment I still think this team is capable of blowing this lead.
