Ah yes, the first stop of the Ringling Road Trip. This is probably the most important stretch of games for the team. We have to win at least half of the games on this road trip, in particular, the games against Ottawa and Carolina. I'd be happy to go 2 and 2 in the games against the Avs, Canucks, Oilers, and Flames. Getting as many points out of those games is very important, since in a sense, they're "free points" since these opponents aren't vying for position in our conference.
Kozzy's goal was nice, he basically flipped it into the open far side of the net from the right circle because Jose wasn't covering the angle right and he was screened by his own defenseman. He's looking less "post-concusion" tonight and has a lot of jump in his step.
Metro's doing well with Hoslov, and Haydar's doing okay too (better than Slater). Boulton is better than Kapanen, imo...always has been this year.
The D looks solid, but Andy's looking really slow despite making some good plays. He's had a few good shots on net.
We're finally doing what I've been clamoring for.
2.) No dump and chase
3.) Go behind the opponent's net so as to give it to our points. We're finally using the points again!
The most important thing is the forecheck - it's like the theory of playing for field position in football. Make it harder for them to break out, and you won't have to work as hard on defense. Before we were always collapsing. This started to change in the Buffalo game. It's a very good sign.
