Our 3 seasons under Gainey have been the exact same. They haven't improved one bit. Any slight improvement has been because of Savard's draft picks.

Here's another thing. Carbonneau should bench anybody who gets a stupid penalty from now on because these guys just don't seem to get it. Our PK sucks and these penalties are utterly useless. These guys are a disgrace to the Habs storied franchise.

Anybody who plays like **** should be automatically replaced by a Hamilton call-up to get the point across. At least those guys would play their hearts out if given a chance to play in the big league.
Hey buddy, watch the other 22 useless players on the ice too, too many bash one when all are sucking.

clean up the mess?????

what do you want Boivin to do? fire Bob Gainey? you're the kind of person who says that Gainey is a bad GM when he doesn't trade and when he pulls out a Kovalev-trade or sign a Samsonov, you say that he's a genius?

There has never been a more intelligent time than now to trade him. He is ridicously one-dimensional, and if he is susposed to be a goal scorer..where are the goals??

Let's be honest...we weren't a very good team, but in the beginning the specialty teams and goaltending kept us near the top.

ALL of that has gone south, combine that with a horrid team offensive slump and taking too many undisplined penalties and we are where we are.

I don't believe we are a sub .500 team, just an average team.

With all that said, I think Gainey should make every effort to acquire a franchise player, and trade whom ever it takes to get that player. The last player we had was Guy Lafleur.... way too long for this supposedly storied franchise

Let's trade the whole team

I'm so glad Bob Gainey is our GM and none of you guys are.

I'm fine with Gainey's moves and acquistions. His choices of coaches havent been the most intelligent though. We'll just have to see what Gainey can do at the trade deadline.

Carbo is playing the wrong players.

Gainey should have Downey and Murray in the minors have kids up like Kosts and others to let them play 5-8 minutes in the big league over unskilled and unhelpful players in the two above mentioned on the ice.

The whole coaching/management team is as much at fault as the players.

I have a dream......that one day, maybe one day, people will stop looking at our record to analyse our performance and actually watch the games to know how good we really are.

Even in our great winning record at the beginning of the year, most of those wins, we were totally outmatched or plain lucky.

We were never that great of a team.

We're an average team but I still LOOOOOOOOVE MY HABS!!!!!!!

No, he's the President of the organization. He's delegated the hockey-managerial decisions to Gainey.

I'm not certain how this equates to his job being merely a title...

Call up Kostitsyn

Its obvious that the habs cant score and that Kost is playing really well in the AHL, so the simple thing to do is to send murray to hamilton and call up the guy that has the most chance of helping this team offensivly.

You never know he might spark other players butt. Ryder, Higgins, Johnson, Koivu, Murray, Downey, Samsonov, Perezoghin and Lapierre arent arent creating any real scoring chances lately, we need a talented and creative player. A pure offensive guy.

Give Kost a real chance, put him on the first line with Koivu and ask him to score and thats it. Theres nothing else to do without making a trade. He could also be used at the point while Markov is out.

He doesnt count for much against the cap so theres no problem with that. He also needs a reward for all the good work hes been doing over the past 3 months.

I'm more annoyed at myself for believing this team had the potential to be better than one that's scratching and clawing for a final playoff spot. It never changes.

Then you're not watching the organization very closely.

But he doesn't show the same intensity as Murray or Lapierre so therefore he can't be any good.

- Sincerly,

Guy Carbonneau.

I hate to say it but we aren't in a slump. All year long we have been outshot by the opposition but managed to win games we should have lost. Now we are losing those games. This team is nowhere close to being one of the top ten teams in the league.

Our top line has to be one of the worst in the league. Ryder keeps getting worse year after year, Koivu seems tired and Higgins plays with spark once in a while.

Carbo refuses to give some players an opportunity while he overplays others. He always seems to be proving a point to his players and it's not getting results. To me Carbo hasn't changed much since he left the club during his playing das. His passion overcomes his ability to make rational and calculated decisions. That may work as a player but not as a coach.

Well, he's got the job he's always wanted. Now he need's become a coach instead of a flashpoint for contoversy. Really, this team hasn't moved forward one iota since last year. It is the same old story and is getting old.

I have no idea what the solution is... but to pass it off as a slump would be deluding ourselves.

The result could hardly be worse at the moment.

I don't disagree with that at all. What bothers me is that I come on HFboards after a very frustrating game to get a perspective on what's happening and everything I see is just making me frustrated even more.

This team will be out of a playoff spot by the end of Valentine's Day. Four games between now and then, and three of them are going to be against opponents eager to kick us while we're down.

And it's all because the current group of guys wearing the CH have been playing like they simply don't give a damn. That's really all there is to it. Aside from 3-5 of the supporting cast, this team has quit caring whether it wins or loses.

The late 90s were hell because of utterly incompetent management. Hard to blame the players for that. But this year, this slide, is ALL on the players. They've got the talent to be a 100-point team. They showed it and played like it for three months. And then they just stopped.

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with this team.
