Games Tonight:
Rangers V Tampa Bay

Nothing else going on tonight except Chicago v Edmonton. If the Rangers win tonight they pull to 5 points, if they lose they are out 9 on Tampa and 8 on Carolina (Whom they play in two games). 4 point game tonight. The Rangers better be on their A game for all 60 minutes.

Standings:
04. Pittsburgh - 65 (28)
05. Ottawa - 65 (26)
06. Montreal - 64 (26)
07. Carolina - 63 (25)
08. Tampa Bay - 62 (27)
------------------------
09. Toronto - 60 (27)
10. Islanders - 59 (27)
11. Rangers - 55 (28)

(#) = Games Remaining

If the Rangers lose in regulation to TB,the Rangers are 8 points out of 8th because Carolina is 8th.TB with 62 points would have 64 points with a win.Carolina has 63 points and they aren't playing tonight.Where I went to school,we were taught 64 is higher than 63.The Rangers would be nine points behind #6 TB and #7 Montreal with 64 points each and Carolina would #8 with 63-8 points up on the Rangers

...

I dont like the line combos...

HOWEVER, for this game the line combos could work because Tampa only has 2 decent pairs of dmen...the 3rd pair is very mediocre at best (Janik, Pratt).

If we can roll these 4 lines...sooner or later we should take advantage o that 3rd pairing.

Unfortunately we have no idea if these lines will have any chemestry. So even if you have a mismatch somewhere, who knows if that line can even score.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Renney contiously change the lines like he did against New Jersey, not sure why as Tampa is not the line matching team that NJ is. But maybe he feels it will work for some reason.

its sickening to me to see us just ONE point ahead of washington.... a team that has been toatlly rebuilding for a couple years, and we with all our money and "star power" are only ONE point in front of them ..... disgusting

Not the Canes Or Montreal. Tampa Bay. We are playing THEM tonight & if we WIN which I stated (and I expect us to do) we would be five points behind them.

And you can save your smart ass school comments for somebody else. I don't come to these boards to be insulted by the likes of you.

Thank you seriously, who wants to see Tampa or/and Pittsburgh in the playoffs? This is for the greater good people!

Tom Renney today said "It's a big game tonight! A must win! ...no seriously this time, lets win this one! After all.....we have our secret weapon...MAREK MALIK!"

I want nothing more than NYR to make the playoffs BUT I would love to see Malkin, Crosby, Staal & the rest of the kids in Pittsburgh make the playoffs.. They aRE SUCH an exciting team to watch.. I really think they can do some damage.

The TEAMS I don't want to see = Canadians.. They have enough Cups as it is.

The NHL would bust a nut over this. Their games would be on national TV. And we'd have dumbass announcers everywhere calling them the next great one and the next Lemieux Jagr and I'll feel like im watching roller ball. No thanks! They're exciting but i don't want a huge bandwagon of pens fans to appear and flood the streets nor do I want everyone who doesn't know a damn about hockey to assume such things like Crosby is the next great one.

Oh by the way... i had a dream last night the Rangers got Stumpel.

Dont know for what, so dont ask. All i know is Stumpel was in a Rangers uniform and he made a backhand drop-pass that was intercepted and skated down the ice for a goal. Oh, no wait, that was Malik.

Some of us even dream hockey, and quite realistically i might add!

Well, Vasicek went back to Carolina, so you can cross him off the list.

The Rangers still haven't won a game without Malik this season, it's so sad.
