I haven't read that far back on this thread, so maybe it's already been discussed, but why not bring back Sykora? I thought he was great on this team and didn't understand why they let him go. He'd be a lot cheaper than most of the other guys on the market, too, and would be worth it for shootouts alone.

As for Sakic breaking up the lines, I don't think you have to worry about that, since there's absolutely no chance he gets traded. Ever. Ever. I really can't believe I even read that here.

A) pass
B) this is not enough to get zherdev and berard
C) berard isn't needed with rachunek, pock, and roszival here

I don't think we will end up with either of them, however if sather thinks one of these two guys makes us a playoff team, i think he will pull the trigger

I would actually go after Tkachuk if the price wasn't retardedly steep.

Should the Rangers make a deal for Morris?

TSN's got this article up on deadline sellers, and they say pheonix would be willing to part with Derek Morris, who may be having a bad year but is still an all around good defenseman, top 2 in some people eyes. Well at least he's got a top 2 salary ($3.9 mil for the next 2 years). What do you think it would take to get him, and would it be worth it?

Agree... Although on different levels, after what Forsberg went for, you can expect Tkachuk to go for a lot more than he should...

That's a good point. I'm sure JD still has some Ranger in him. He'll wait till someone is ready to overpay..

How much is the question. If he is a contract dunmp, the price could be acceptable. I expect Pock to be traded and this could be his landing spot.

I've been interested in Morris for a while. Ever since Phoenix got Jovo and Boynton and Ballard and Michalek playing so well, Morris doesn't really fit. He's got a hard shot from the point and plays real physical. Not exactly the stay-at-home type we need, but he would definitely be an upgrade to what we have.

The only question is what would Phoenix want for him. I'd go as high as a 2nd rounder and a decent prospect. I doubt Phoenix would take any salary back.
