I'm not giving up Montoya for that.

Michael Nylander to Vancouver for Brendan Morrison who is signed for next season(just next season)-$3.2 million.Would rather have Morrison for one season rather than giving Nylander or another free agent center a multi-year deal

Wholeheartedly agree. If the bottom falls out from underneath us in these next three games before the deadline, Nylander is one of our best chips. We could actually gain alot by asking for a reasonable price and showing up STL with their ridiculous demands.

I'd ask for a 2nd/3rd this year and a 1st next year. (I think that after the first 15 or so picks, the next 45 are pretty even and have somewhat low ceilings. In all honesty, every draft is hyped more than it should be but next years draft is shaping up to produce more impact players)

Are you crazy? Too many proposed trades include Montoya, his value isn't that of a throw in..

boynton's value would most likely cost a top prospect or first round pick.

Don't get me wrong, I like Boynton, but his value isn't top dollar if the team is looking to sell him, Rachunek and Immo are more than sufficient along with a mid level pick,or,I'd just remove Laraque from the trade, and make it Rachunek and Immo straight up.

This team has too many good defensemen prospects to give up a top prospect or a first round pick.

The bloom is off Boynton's rose for me. He's been mediocre this season and he's 28.

Can you please tell me how we benefit from getting Georges Laraque? We already have enough 4th line shlubs who can't do anything, we don't need another.

I'd love to get Blake, as long as a few conditions are met:

1) Rachunek is sent in the deal to LA

2) Ward is dealt by the deadline

3) Malik is traded in the off-season

4) Blake is paired with Staal next season, to act as his mentor.

I wouldn't mind a defense next year consisting of Staal/Blake, Tyutin/Girardi and Baranka/Rozsival.

Jas
i agree with 1 and 4, i suggested it in another thread, however i don't think we can find a taker for ward with his contract and i don't see anyway that sather will move malik. i mean who wants malik and from what it seems renney is very happy with his play

staal-blake
rozsival-malik
tyutin-ward

girardi as the 7 man we be a pretty good looking defense for next season IMO

girardi should be at least the 6th paining. i mean he has shown to be a stedy rookie, so let the kid play.

tuts - girardi
rosi - malik
ward - staal

7th - lampman

so trade pock before the deadline for a 4th or something....maybe throw in heilman to make it a 3rd

Brewer re-signed with the Blues (4 years between $4-5 million/year).

Manny Legace also resigned (2 years at about $2/year).

I don't know if anything like this has been proposed already, but how about:

Prucha + Tyutin for Jordan Staal?

Thrashers trade Coburn to Flyers for Zhitnik. Good deal for the Flyers. I wonder what can the Rangers vets fetch in a trade.

Rangers vets will effectively fetch nothing. Who would want any of them? Atlanta is better off with Glen Metropolit as their top center than trading valuable assets for Nylander. He might get a 2nd. Anyone else (except for Straka) I would be surpried to get more than a 3rd.

And no matter how many draft picks the Rangers acquire, its still the same worthless scouting staff and the same idiots running the draft.

New York
Nylander, Rachunek & 4th Rounder

Atlanta
Alex Bourret, Boris Valabik & 3rd Rounder

We get a couple more Nasty players in our system, and Bourret has some nice offensive upisde.

Atlanta gets a top center to play alongside Kovalchuk and a warm body on defense in Rachunek.

Okay Here is my vision for a complete overhaul of the New York Rangers.

New York
Michael Nylander, Aaron Ward & 4th Rounder

Atlanta
Alex Bourret, Boris Valabik & 3rd Rounder

---

New York
Jaromir Jagr

Anaheim
Dustin Penner
Bobby Ryan
Tampa Bay 07' 1st Rounder

---

New York
Martin Straka
3rd Rounder

Buffalo
Derek Roy

---

New York
Marek Malik

Carolina
Bill Kinkel
5th Rounder

---

New York
Michal Roszival

Minnesota
Matt Foy
Ryan Jones
1st Rounder

---

New York
Karel Rachunek

Edmonton
Liam Reddox
5th Rounder

Bring up the kids like Dubinsky, Callahan and Baranka/Lampman to finish the season.
Let Girardi and Pock play everyday. Also call Kasper backup.
Insert Dustin Penner and Derek Roy onto our top lines.

During the draft we have three first rounders to play with.

Next Season Staal and Ryan make the team, We sign Chris Drury or Daniel Briere to center our first line. And possibly an offensive defensemen.

Shanahan-Briere-Ryan
Penner-Roy-Prucha
Avery-Cullen-Hossa/Bourret
Ortmeyer/Korpikoski-Dubinsky-Callahan/Hollweg

Tyutin-Free Agent
Staal-Girardi
Baranka-Sauer/Valabik/Lampman

Would badly need to sign a vet defensemen to quaterback the PP.

But thats a nice looking lineup that won't make the playoffs but will give us hope for a bright future.

*This will never happen cause Sather doesnt have the balls to trade all these vets, but in the long run we'd be a way better team.*

Ok well considering the fact that Philly just got freaking Coburn for Zhitnik, I think it's DEFINATELY time to trade Malik, Roszival and Rachunek. If we can get someone half as good as Coburn I'd do it in an instance...what do you all say?

I agree with you 100%. I've been saying all along that we're screwed as long as we have Jagr on this team.

I don't think the Rangers are going to do a firesale type thing or even acquire anything that can significantly help them this season unless its an Avery type trade.. but I have a REALLY strong feeling Nylander will be traded
