Jokinen Playing Injured

Just read a Jokinen interview in a finnish newspaper. It stated Jokinen is playing injured and he's been having lower stomach and groin problems for a year now that could require surgery. He says he's playing thrue it because he has to he wants to make the playoffs. But if the playoffs are out the picture he might have some lower body surgery and miss the WC (as the article was mainly about team finland)

Well that's fine. Might as well get it taken care of now. Again the Panthers won't give up at this point officially but soon enough they will finally let it go. Jokinen is an ironman through and through, he virtually never misses a game and I respect that. But once we're really out of it (which we are now but not mathematically) he should just get it taken care of. Same goes for Van Ryn. Really not a big deal if we have to use call ups for the rest of the year. It's all the same at this point and will likely happen anyway with pending trades.

I agree. If anybody on the team has some kind injury currently that they probably shouldn't be playing with now, they might as well get it taken care of asap so it doesn't affect next season. I give Jokinen and Van Ryn a huge amount of credit for sticking around this long, but it really doesn't matter anymore since they're just hurting themselves more which will take more time to recover.

I cant imagine playing any sport with a groin injury or wrist injuries....let alone ice hockey.

Van Ryn and Jokinen should get the surgery, we can tank and get a better pick.

They already look like one on the ice. It'll just be fitting they'll be AHL caliper on paper too

Exactly .. they're out of it already. Just undergo the surgery and be ready for 07-08.
