On a side note A J Thelen signed with Houston a ATO contract.

There's been rumors that David McKee won't be back with Cornell, would be a big loss if true.

Also waiting to see where Gabe Gauither goes, hoping it's to the Hamilton Bulldogs!

I agree. They have Troy Davenport coming in next season, who's been playing with Des Moines in the USHL this season but I don't know if he'll become what McKee and LeNeveu have become for Cornell. If Davenport can get off to a strong (and relatively consistent) start, the loss of McKee shouldn't be too bad but if he doesn't, the Big Red will have some goaltending issues to sort out next season.

The loss of McKee would be huge especially when you add in the major blow of losing Moulson plus some key players like Gleed, the Abbotts and Pegarro. Then there's talk of perhaps the Habs trying to get O'Byrne to leave a year early but I don't really think that would happen.

Sticking with Cornell for a moment, have either of you heard anything about Pokulok's intentions? A Hershey writer speculated he might leave school early and sign with the Capitals, but I have not heard or read anything to believe that will be the case at this point. There was a report at the beginning of the season that the Caps talked to him at that time, but nothing recent other than the one article full of speculation.

Dingle's still only a soph (he spent a long time in junior). While skilled as all get out he looks ticketed to the minors so he's best off getting his degree and going pro from there. Besides the Pioneers in the next two seasons is a nice enough prospect the regionals the next two years and the frozen four in 08 are in state.

I haven't heard anything about Pokulok leaving, if so that would really hurt Cornell since he's only a sophomore. For Cornell's sake I hope he stays

thanks, that one article I mentioned started Caps fans wondering; wait and see, of course, but my guess is that he stays in school for another year

Chris Ovington will join the Houston Aeros on Saturday to play for former Alberta Golden Bears head coach Rob Daum. Ovington was named CIS defenceman of the year last week, then Alberta won the National Title.

Look for goaltender Aaron Sorochan and forward Ben Thomson to get offers over the summer and pro camp invites at the very least for next fall.

The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed defenseman Jekabs Redlihs to an amateur try-out contract. Redlihs, 24, appeared in 27 games with Boston University (Hockey East) this season, tallying one goal and five assists. A native of Riga, Latvia, Redlihs, was selected by Columbus in the fourth round, 119th overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft.

An article about Holy Cross players :
http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dl...49/1009/SPORTS

Several seniors could earn a pro contract after McGregor.
One of them will stop :

Napert-Frenette already has a job lined up with a Wall Street firm as a financial analyst and opted to hang up his skates. The senior center/captain finished second on the Crusaders in scoring with 45 points.

Is someone familiar with NCAA college free agents and how they are signed? Chris Collins of BC is a free agent. This line was in today's Boston Globe about his status:

While Boyle seemed certain about his future, Collins said he didn't know how the rest of the year would play out. Collins, an undrafted free agent, would have to sign with an NHL club before the end of the regular season. The senior, whose family adviser is Steve Bartlett, could also complete the academic year and sign a pro contract this summer.

http://www.boston.com/sports/college...ful_on_return/

Does that mean a college FA can sign with a pro team once his college season is finished but prior to the end of the NHL regular season; also, could someone draft him in the upcoming draft if he remains unsigned?

A college free-agent can sign anytime he wants to. Collins could have signed the night before the final if he wanted to-but he wouldn't have been able to play of course.
