Eric Pedersen, Tim Reidy, and Tony Johnson, all of Merrimack College (HE), all signed with the Pee Dee Pride (ECHL)

Also....

Marco Rosa of Merrimack College signed with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL, however it looks as if he will be assigned to Long Beach (ECHL)

Bellissimo and Dwyer leave WMU

Vince Bellissimo and Pat Dwyer have left Western Michigan a year early to go pro.

You can read all about it HERE.

Huge blow to Western... this team is in for some serious turbulence.

Just to clarify, Vince left early... Pat was a senior.

I know he's a good player, but to those who've seen him on a regular basis, does he have a future at a higher level than the NCAA?

Say... the NHL?

I've had the luxury of having seen him play several times, and I would say he definitely does. He's a fantastic passer, has great vision, great leader, and he's one of those guys who can really control the tempo of a game. If he can add a little bulk and some speed, he can definitely have the potential to play at the pro level.

I got to watch the Cornell verses Harvard game last night ..

I was surprised at the fast pace of the game .. No trap systems played here ..

Senior Dman Charlie Cook of Cornell had a good game with a couple of goals and looked pretty solid .

It was mentioned that he would like to turn pro .. Any info of interested teams ??

Not yet, but I'm not surprised that there's interest in him. He's a terrific player.

That was my impression also .. He was quaterbacking the point on PP and firing away last night and his skating and defensive game I thought was pretty impressive as well ..

Just to give a little update on Vince's first pro game in the AHL, he was named 2nd Star of the game in a 1-0 San Antonio win against Utah (battle of the bottom feeders ). Vince didn't register a point, but he created tons of offensive chances for his linemates and finished with 5 SOG.

Thanks for the update. Glad to see him making an immediate impact with the team.

After watching Peluso for the last few years, I'd say he won't be in the ECHL for long, he's got definite AHL ability, wicked wrister.

Bellisimo and Murphy from above were both drafted and they've signed with the AHL teams of the clubs that drafted them.

My understanding is that they are signing amateur try-out deals. I don't know how it works in the ECHL, but in the AHL, they can be signed as reserve players after the "clear day roster" deadline has passed. They can step in if there's an injury.

Any word on wether or not Patrick Eaves will be going to Binghamton? I hope so, he'd be a huge help for the playoffs.
