Calgary Flames @ Buffalo Sabres (2/10/07)

I know I'll be on the edge of my seat for this one. All I ask out of the Flames is a solid effort tonight. They'll sure have their work cut out for them.

Is it safe to assume it will be Kiprusoff vs. Miller?

Huge test for the flames. I marked this game down awhile ago so heres hoping to a full 60 minute effort on sat.

Hey kids, looks like Buffalo/Calgary is the primetime game from Alberta/west.
Heres the CBC schedule:

n Television Program Image

Hockey Night in Canada
Pittsburgh @ Toronto (National/Atl/Man/Sask). Ottawa @ Montreal (Ottawa/Que). Calgary @ Buffalo (Alta/West).
7:00 p.m. EST on CBC Television

Yes, we here in Alberta do not have to endure a Bob Cole mispronunciation of names and Harry Neales granny voice + no leafs.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....!

Sounds like Jim Playfair plans on mixing up the lines in tonight's game.

Friesen - Langkow - Iggy
Tanguay - Lombardi - Amonte
Nilson - Conroy - Moss
Huselius - Yelle - Ritchie/Goddard

Huselius on the 4th line? He is playing great and gets bumped to the 4th line???

Nah, that can't be right. Were those the practice lines or something? There's no way Huselius is gonna be playing on the 4th line.

Yeah, I figured. The practice lines usually don't mean anything in terms of what the actual lines will be for the game (thankfully).

sadly enough, when toronto plays pittsburgh i actually want to see it. Don't see much of the pens in calgary. Those were the lines in practice today according to the calgary herald. Flames have been playing to the level of their competition in the last few games, so as long as they keep that habit up, it should be a good one.just pray it doesnt go to a shootout.....

Probable Flames Line-Up
Forward Lines

Friesen Langkow Iginla
Nilson Conroy Moss
Tanguay Lombardi Amonte
Huselius Yelle Ritchie
Defence Pairings
Ro. Regehr Warrener
A. Ference Giordano
Hamrlik Phaneuf

Goalies
Kiprusoff McLennan

..........

thats straight off the flames website/gameday page. noted i've never actually bothered looking at the preveiw on the flames page so i dont know how reliable it is. (it does have phaneuf/hamrlik as the third pairing and the tanguay and huselius lines #3 and #4). but if those are the lines we are going with to try to match up offence with buffalo we might as well just give them the two points and vancouver the division lead back because we arent fooling anyone with that $hitshow of a lineup

Looks like those lines turned out after all. Seemed like a higher tempo period than the last few games, I take that as a good sign

Pretty good start for the Flames. And Friesen with a nifty little play. Maybe the Flames will play for sixty minutes this time. If they do, the game should be close.

goal should've never happened. Derek Roy got hit from behind and there was no call about 20 seconds before the goal was scored.
