GDT: 02/10/07 - Thrashers @ Canucks

Ah, the game I've been waiting for all year, my two favorite teams facing off.

The Thrashers come in off a big win against Colorado in which Kari stopped an amazing 45 shots! The Canucks have cooled down as of late, but are still one of the best teams in the NHL since Christmas. There's a chance that we might get to see Moose tonight, but Id believe the odds are more in Kari's favor, and that Moose will probably play the Oilers tomorrow.

Atlanta's special teams need to be extremely strong tonight if they hope to pull off anything against Vancouver's 1st ranked PK. If Sutton plays solidly, and Exelby continues his play from the Colorado game, Atlanta should be able to physically dominate Vancouver quite easily, however with guys like Cowan, Bieksa, Mitchell and Ohlund on the other side, you can never be too sure.

I say the Canucks take this 4-3 in OT.

Either way, Im a winner tonight

if your refering to Moran and Reid they will both be playing.
Im preety excited for this game because ATL is very fun to watch with the kovalchuk and hossa and even kozlov. But im hoping luogno can do his thing and dont let any easy ones.

GO CANUCKS GO

I hope Colorado showed the quality of western defence and Vancouver will continue with same quality. Ok, my guess is tha defence today against Thrash offence will be much harder.

Hopefully our boys can take two points to airplane to be taken back to southeast on next week.

Kozlov is back on track

Metro is finally back with the top line

Coming off a big win to start the road trip

Going up against a goalie who we have chased out of the net more than probably any in our history.

I feel pretty good about tonight

One thing the Thrash have to do is keep Pyatt away from Kari, he's a big guy and screens pretty well, allowing the Sedins to do a lot of work and pot a few goals.

He was referring to Johan Hedberg ATL's backup whose nickname is Moose not the Canucks callups.

Any word on whether or not Belanger will be in the lineup tonight? If so what will the lines look like?

Me too, I wanna see what Belanger can do for this team.

But aren't we a little overflowed on centers now?

I'm looking forward to this game. We don't get to see Kovalchuk, Hossa et al. nearly enough out here on the west coast!

Yea, as bad as our record is against Western Conference teams, I still really enjoy these games to see teams I normally don't get to watch without CI and comcast/yahoo games.

Also, nice avatar, Grim Fandango > all .

They were scrambling in the beginning, but the team has settled down since that first goal flurry...

What a hit by Holik!

Larsen's hurt. High stick, he seems fine.

Andy Sutton has been awful since returning from injury. The Holik hit made me holler "OW" outloud.

we haven't been able to get many shots past the nucks defense so far.

Holy crap, Ilya just lapped around the net on that shift and went right through the defenders... if the finish was there, that would have been one sweet highlight..

JESUS ****ING CHRIST! I SAID KEEP ****ING PYATT AWAY FROM KARI.

I may be a fan of both teams, but I wanted the ****ing Thrashers to win. Instead they put forward a half assed ****** "effort" if its even enough to call it that. Nice weak goals Kari

Exelby needs to knock Taylor Pyatt into next week.

SIM! Finally. Let's chase Luongo from the net.

How can you have Kovalchuk, Hossa and Kozlov on a PP unit and not score?
