I think we should pull a more baseball type of thing. I feel whenever a team plays back to back games, they are 100% more entertaining because one team has to proove something. Boy was that game against carolina exciting, bad blood all around. Now when they play each other again, the rivalry can cool down on the game, but atleast we had one good game. I think the NHL should put more of that in if possible.
There used to be those all the time around '93. Then they became non-existent for the second half of the nineties, and it seems they've only resurfaced in the past couple of years. As you say, they're very entertaining, both teams have the same level of rest and it's good to have them back.
The intensity level that the Habs showed was a direct result of this being a back to back series. It was entertaining to watch a revitalized Habs team from a fans' perspective. Heck, even Sundstrom was feisty, banged on the boards and crashed the net (yes...it really was Sunny). Q was assessed more penalty minutes after the final whistle than the whole team averages over 60 minutes. It was an emotionally charged and entertaining pair of games. More of it, please!!
