I was thinking about going down for one of the Rangers vs. Islanders games in March (since there's still tickets.) Anyone have an idea of how I could get there with Mass Transit? I was thinking about the train from Penn Station to Hempstead, but then it's about a 2 mile distance from the train station to the arena.

I would think bus, or cab, but I don't know for sure. I've actually never been inside the place, even though I live 35 minutes away.

There is no train that will take you real close to the arena, but coming from the city, it's the only way to get to the Island. Do you know anyone on the Island who could pick you up from the train? If not, check the bus schedules, or you can call a cab.

Calling a cab would be the best way.

There's no way to get to the Coliseum through Mass Transit..which is one of the most ridiculous and stupid things you could imagine.

there are cabs waiting at the Hempstead train station. No need to call. Its a quick ride, should be cheap.

Take the LIRR to Mineola or Westbury or Hempstead and you can hop a cab from there not a long trip at all. Keep an eye on Ticketmaster as there will be tix released for the 3/5 game at MSG as well. They always release tickets a few days prior.

Cab will probably be your best bet like everyone has already said. I'll be at the game on the 25th I think it is as well so maybe i'll see ya there

Be careful you dont get permanently stuck to the floor. The Mausoleum has really sticky floors. The place is a dump and you will laugh when you go inside. I cant come up with a comparison to this dump except for the landfills in New Jersey
