GDT: 02/11/07 - Thrashers @ Oilers

Well, my perfect GDT record was broken last night, but since Edmonton's where I live..I figured I'd make today's GDT

I think this game is a MUST WIN for both teams, if the Oilers lose, then their playoff chances become extremely low, and if we lose, ours continue going down the drain. This road trip is our chance to turn this second half of our season into a copy of what October was. So far we're 1-1, so let's make that 2-1 tonight. The Thrashers and the Oilers don't really seem to like eachother much, so this could turn out to be a very entertaining game. Moose will most likely get the start, while Belanger and Hamel are expected to be making their debuts.

I may have the pleasure of taking this game in at Rexall

Thrashers 5 (Hossa (2), Kovalchuk, Belanger, Metropolit)
Oilers 1 (Hemsky)

Oh yeah I forgot about Johan "Moose" Hedberg...I thought Garnett was the backup for Atlanta, he must be playing in the AHL right now then.

looking forward to this game, well without theese teams playing in a helluva long time, I doubt they have any ill-will towards eachother, after all mike comrie isnt an oiler anymore lol, everyone remembers that fight that comrie had with kovalchuk, pulling his hair and aswell that huge line-brawl theese 2 teams had the last time ATL visited Edmonton, Ty Conklin is also not a member anymore, so thats probly a distant memory in most fans eyes.

I do expect tho, a hard hitting afair tonight, lots of intensity, the thrashers have some physical Dmen, in Exelby and sutton, big guys, the oilers r gonna try n beat them in the forecheck downlow, n the oilers D are gonna try n be physical with the thrashers in their own end, of course Kovalchuk, Kozlov n Hossa are extremely hard to hit cause u just cant catch them, they skate so well, they make it look effortless, the Oilers gameplan has just gotta be to limit their room out there, not give them too much time and space or those 3 aformentioned players will make us pay tonight.

Sutton is SUCH A F@G!!! He is soooo weak in the slot!!!!

And he better answer up to their goon or else Hossa or Slava are going to get crushed somewhere down the road in this game.

I can't WAIT for him to leave this team!!!!!!!!!

Dammit Sutton! HIT SOMEBODY WHEN IT MEANS SOMETHING

And he wonders why he's 31 yrs. old and never been in a playoff game.

Belanger made a good move on that last PK. Hamel has just been invisible.

Why do we always take stupid penalties?

Good work by Kozlov on that last PK.

Ya, Ottawa people were laughing at the Hamel pick-up. He's nothing more than a taller version of Krapanen.

I hope the Brewer rumors are true, that we dumped Vish getting ready to grab Brewer. I would LOVE if we could trade Sutton to Detroit for even a game-warn jersey.

And I hope this team doesn't "dumb down" Belanger. He looks very smart so far.

great. NHL.com has us down 1-0 after one. We really ARE the Rodney Dangerfield of the NHL.

Belanger is known for his hockey sense. I think he's looked good so far, but we'll see how the rest of the game goes before making any judgements.

Oh well. Business as usual. No one else on this team has any hockey sense. The backside was left wide open for an easy goal.

I look forward to battling Toronto for the 8th spot by March.

Over and out.

Is ANYBODY gonna hammer Hemsky? We keep letting him walk in, someone needs to show him who's boss.

THIS WHOLE TEAM is useless. We suck. If we dont turn this game around and win, we're not gonna make the playoffs, mark my words. I can hear Tampa knocking at the door
