Flames are on Fire!

They sweep the POW offensive and defensive stars.

I didn't see any Flames' threads here so I thought I'd post one b/c they're playing fantastic hockey right now and I'm also a closet Flames' fan... that's what happens when you're forced to live in Cowtown for a few years, but I've escaped to the Island since then. :p

Hopefully they can keep it up, it would be nice to see them in the playoffs again, especially when the Kings wipe the floor with them!

Darry Sutter is doing what he did in SJ. Gave this team an identity and gave his players confidence.
They are not out of the woods yet, but the Flames are headed in the right direction and fast.

Did I mention that they are playing without their #1, 2 and 4 centres, #1 D and #1 goalie?

Maybe Turek should get a chance to show what he can do with a team that allows the least shots on net before you say he sucks.

Turek is better than Kiprusoff or McLennan. Frankly, McLennan is awful, his save % is not good. Don't overlook the job the D is doing here, Turek would post at least the same numbers or better than Kipper.

Okay, next time I'll leave it up to you then to start a Flames' thread. I can't believe a 'Nucks fan had to do it.

Really though, I just hope the Flames can continue to kick some butt this season and into the playoffs; their fans truly deserve to see it.

Who IS this guy Donovan???

I would have, if I had not been banned for "trolling" the nucks board.

Two week ban, overturned today when it was realized that I hadn't done anything and Kirk just has a hate-on for me or something.

Oh well. At least I'm back now, cheering on my Flames!

First time in forever that the cities actually been excited about the Flames, great to see them finally breaking out and putting some wins together. Also love the fact that Donovan's doing so well, great guy who's finally getting some attention.

Well, I've always enjoyed your comments on the 'Nucks board but then again I'm by no means there 24-7. Besides, we share the same city so you can't be all that bad.

They are playing with their No. 1 goalie, trust me...Kipper was a pickup n a half for the Flames.

Thats not entirely true...if youre talkin about late last season to the beginning of this season then youre right. Kipper was thought to have better potential than Nabokov when he came on the scene. I still think Kipper will be better than Nabby and think the Sharks dealt the wrong goaltender. Its amazing Wilson got a second rounder outta Sutter (but I think Sutter knew exactly what he was doing) but Nabokov could have brought in a real good return. Movin Johnny Boy, however, would look bad in the eyes of the season ticket holders and Kip was the new scapegoat in town (with Nolan gone) so it came as no surprise to me that he was moved. Its the way of the world, only now I cheer for the Flames whenever Mikka is playin.

There is a Donovan thread...

Anyway, Turek is still the #1 goalie until he comes back and gets beaten out for the job by Kiprusoff.

It's great to be a flames fan right now. They are playing great hockey and everyone is contributing. Although this next little stretch of games will be very tough. We play Col, Phill, and Boston. Hopefully we can keep it up!

a sad day for the NHL when a complete waste like Donovan warrants a thread.

Way to go Calgary!

I'm happy for you, the fans!

I'm dreaming that all six Canadian franchises make the playoff this year.

Yea, 9 goals in 6 games sure sucks. I mean...its Donovan, and he's a complete waste.
