ESPN article on Stumpy

I still say losing Thomas was the worst move in the offseason. The Ducks should had done more to convince Stumpy to stay.

You mean to tell me, that we could AFFORD to take Simpson and his $1.5 million salary rather than sign Stumpy for $1 million. If he wanted to come back, BM should've snapped him up right away.

I'm not convinced that Bryan Murray didn't offer Stumpy a contract, its obvious money wasn't an issue this off season. If Stump wanted to come back he would have.

My thoughts exactly. Thomas waited for an offer from a team close to his home.

I know I may be called un-American for this, but I'm starting to really dislike Steve Thomas. What a *****.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I don't like him, but I think it was obvious that he didn't want to be here this season. It's fine.. he can go to Detroit and we can beat them again.

This team is going to be fine and it will be a lot better when Leclerc comes back in a few weeks and Niedermayer comes back in a few weeks and when Sykora and Chistov start scoring goals. All 3 of the things are going to happen.

I still think this team needs a veteran leader...a Ronning or Graves type.

That's right, Graves is still out there. More and more of these guys'll be snapped up by contenders as the deadline looms.
