Like I said in the GDT for the game last week against the Avs, I'd be happy to go 2 and 2 in these four games.
This game is very important since we only have one more game after this against a Western Conference team (The Sharks come to Blueland on March 23rd.) and so far in the 8 games against the Western Conference, we're 2-5-1. The 4 points possible in the two remaining games against Western Conference teams are very vital considering how slim our lead in the division.
This is a team we should be able to pull off a win against. Kari won't have the number of shots he faced in Vancouver and Colorado, and I think our style is one that Calgary is weak to (I remember watching the run-and-gun Canucks dominate Calgary often, I compare this Thrashers team to that Canucks team).

Correction: The Oilers were a team that you should have been able to pull a win against. I'm not guaranteeing a Flames win tonight, but seeing how the Flames have played at home this season, this will most likely be a far bigger challenge for Atlanta (unless Calgary collapses like they did in Detroit).

How is that? Calgary is more of an offensive threat than Vancouver is, so I don't understand what you mean there.
Anyways, looking forward to a good game tonight. Atlanta is a good team so we should get just that.
Atlanta is an incredibly mediocre team with a few brilliant individuals. Anything that has to be coached we are generally pretty bad at; powerplay, penaltykill, defense, forechecking, whatever. The sports cliche "a good team win" in Thrashers terms normally means that two out of Kovalchuk, Lehtonen or Hossa/Kozlov had a great game. If none of them have a great game, we lose. If one has a great game, it depends on the opposition and just how great that one players game is.
It's not the greatest team makeup to have by any means, but it does mean we're a few synchronised hotstreaks away from being the best team in the league.. Which is why I'm not ready to write off this team's deep-playoff-run-hopes yet.
It seems as if Hartley has just given up on the PK unit. If they were in any bigger of a box they would have had people outside the blueline.
I really don't think Hartley has a clue what he's doing. PKing is not necessarily about talent, just about hard work. The flyers suck and they have a top5 PK unit. There is NO reason we should be this bad on it.
man, our division lead is all but gone. Tampa is 3 points back with two games in hand so basically Tampa is in the lead with 1 point. Carolina is only 2 pts back of us. We are basically 1 or 2 losts from being out of the top 8th. We just seem like a good team with our high points but we've played like 2-3games more then any other team.
OUR PP sucks, get mellanby off, all we do is try and feed him and spend too much time with that. Kozlov and hossa just pass and never shoot so the team knows to lay back from them.
OUR PK blows, bring Coburn back already. The playoffs aren't even a for sure thing which is so sad after the start. Too much salary on forwards and basically none on defense.
