So.... whats the plan for Ottawa?

My idea is not to play Boulton - the options aren't great but put Kapanen back in, or if Rucchin is healhy...... at least you should have some more skill on paper....

Bring up Couburn, sit either McCarthy, Hnidy, or Sutton. I was going to put De Vries but Sutton hasn't come back as the same player since the injury....

He should stick to hitting Ilya after the play is over.

Sutton leading the 3-2 with Hossa and Kovalchuk, and what does Sutton do? Try to stickhandle through both guys and loses the puck, resulting in an odd man rush the other way. Awesome.

Another pile of poo left in Western Canada.

The next two games are the biggest of the season.

At least they're depositing most of the poo over there...There will be less of it to come home to

Who am I kidding, what a terrible position the team has put itself in....

Actually, he's taken his visor off for pretty much all of his fights, if there is time. Sorry, off topic a bit, I just hate it when people spew that kind of nonsense.

Yeah, me too, but then again, after your team gets their ass handed to them, you'll try to come up with anything.

I wouldn't feel too bad about that. The NW division routinely drop-kicks the Eastern conference teams on their way through Western Canada.

Oh enough with the "Sutton sucks" ********.

EVERYONE on this team sucks (Exelby is the only exception IMO). I dont care how well Hossa and Kovalchuk can handle the puck, they just CAN'T FINISH lately, which renders them completely useless. I dont understand how you can have two superstars like Hossa and Kovalchuk, a stellar young goaltender like Lehtonen, and a few good supporting players (Kozlov, Metro, Belanger, Hamel) and be THIS bad.

I dont think we're trying to come up with anything wiseass, if you actually took the time to read through this thread you would realize very quickly we are not trying to make any excuses for our team. Many of us have suggested things to try and fix the situation, not just mindlessly insult other players. We have been god awful lately and I dont think anyone on this board is going to try and make an excuse for it.

Kovalchuk has been finishing okay lately. Btn touched on this earlier in the thread, Kari may be a stellar young goaltender but he's more Curtis Joseph than Martin Brodeur. He can make the great save but all of a sudden will start giving up a couple of soft ones. Kozlov is a good supporting player, as is Holik. Belanger, Hamel, Metro (and arguably the rest of the roster) are borderline NHLers.

The problem is our special teams. Every single game we're getting dominated in the special teams battle, and it kills us. I don't think I've ever seen special teams as bad as ours have been this month (or longer).

I don't know who else you can blame but the coach. I haven't ever been one to lobby for a coach to be fired, but this team has sucked at everything that requires coaching for far too long.

Kovalchuk's ES scoring has been almost identical to what he does every year, which is impressive considering the difference between Savard and Rucchin. It's his lack of PP goals and those secondary powerplay assists he used to specialise in that's hurting his point totals.

Now that all you "western boys" have had your say... please crawl back under your rocks until the Thrashers come back out West again. :-)
