Well, I'd say that Teemu isn't a baby, but tonight he threw the biggest tantrum I have ever seen.
Yes he is a baby. When he was playing for Colorado he was whining all the time. He complained about his knee, teammates, coach and his ice-time (which he didn't deserve, because he sucked).
Anyway.. I'm happy he's gone. Sure we could have used him after his knee-surgery, but he was just horrible in Colorado and all he did was he whined. Colorado-fans propably know him as cry-baby, because he was that there..
Ooh.. What's wrong with that? He certainly deserves some of that.
I can see Avs fans whining but SJ and Kings fans? He struggled a bit in SJ but was the best producer in there anyways. And he certainly deserves *****ing from Kings fans because he plays for the Ducks?
All I remember from Selanne is last year during their series with Calgary when he kept whining after games about how the Flames continuously hooked and held him but wouldn't get called. Ugh.
Besides that, hurry up faceoffs are STILL a part of the NHL. If the guy taking the faceoff doesn't get his stick down in time, it's his own fault for being distracted with whatever else he's doing. This ain't golf.
Selanne definitely deserved the penalty, he was yakking for a full 90 seconds. That team has got to be really frustrated, beside a 7-goal explosion against the Sharks they've scored 2 goals in February.
Is it just me, but on Versus they showed 1 quick replay, and it looked like the puck went over the player's bench. A puck going over the player's bench isn't a penalty.
If it did cross over the boards before that, then yeah, it should have been called, but like I said, they only showed 1 quick replay.
It was awesome when Selanne kept whining during the faceoff and the ref just dropped the puck.
I saw the Versus feed too and there was just one quick replay. It was hard to tell from the replay, but I thought it may have gone over the bench. Regardless my feelings on the situation are as such
1) The refs/linesmen should have easily made the call. Nobody tipped the puck as far as I can see (unless it grazed the forecheckers shoulder, not likely). I don't know which was the right call though because I saw only one replay and it could have gone over the players bench.
2) Selanne should have stopped arguing about it before the faceoff. The refs are not going to reverse a call, so why complain so much. Suck it up and keep playing. Some calls go your way, some don't. I don't blame the ref for dropping the puck like he did, it was his way of saying shut your trap and play.
3) As for getting a 10 minute misconduct, I'm fine with that, but the refs have to be consistent with that (and all their other calls), some let players go more than others, when there is no consistency then the players have to judge how far they can go by knowing a refs tendancies. The refs need to get on the same page with their infractions, one ref lets more go than other and it drive me crazy.
