Wow, were right back in this now... of course, we have to actually win consistently, which has proved to be a problem.
Yeah, they really need to pull out a W against the Pens on Thursday, and then actually put away a terrible Blues team on Saturday if they're gonna get back into this thing. They need to be on a 3 game winning streak heading into the home and home against the Isles. Basically they're gonna need about five 3 game winning streaks down the stretch to have a shot...unless they really go nuts and knock off 4 or 5 in a row a couple times...which is very unusual for this team.
Every game that finished so far went to OT. Luckily for us, JD & Co. came back and won in OT to hold the Isles to just 1 point. So we didn't lose any ground there. We now stand 5 points back on Montreal with 2 games in hand and 18 left to play. Was a heartbreaking loss tonight, but the Rangers played very well with the exception of the 2 short handed goals. If they put the effort and stop making dumb mistakes when they have the lead, they can do some damage down the stretch.
The two home and home games against the Islanders may just turn into the two most important games of the season.
this night is turing out bad, now Devils have a penelty in OT, it started out like we would come up big winnes tonight and yet somehow the teams we need to lose, end up winning or getting a piont
If you look at it from a purely logical stand point, this night had no effect on the Rangers playoff hopes. The Leafs/Habs/Canes/etc can win or lose all their remaining games but we will still be golfing in a few weeks because we can't buy a win.
