Kovalev

Sorry to add to all the trade posts, but I have to say that my little finger tells me that Kovalev has played his last game as a Hab. Anybody else's little finger singing the same tune?

He didn't say it was done. He said his little finger is speculating...

What does your little finger say?

I'd post a picture of this source, but I'm afraid I might be banned for it.

It was his opinion... does he have to have a source for his opinion?

Yeah, Kovy might be a fit for a team looking for an offensive threat during the playoffs.

I can see a Jose theodore kind of trade.. Kovy for someone cheaper...I'm pretty sure Kovy could help a team to make a long run in the playoffs...The only problem with Kovy is that he cant be the best player on a team...I'm pretty sure he could do a great job for a team like San Jose where the leaders are Thornton and Marleau...

One little finger can bring more true rumours than Eklund, so I might believe it

But seriously, Kovalev will not be traded. We still need him to be a better team. He's a hell of a player on the PP and we will need him if Souray leaves. And anyways, his value isn't high enough...he's more valuable to us even if he's underacheiving.

little fingers don't start rumours, they simply state what they feel. Get in touch with your little fingers, what do they tell you?

I posted this in two other threads, but from the moment management announced he was 'injuried', I knew he played is last game. Three weeks brings us to the trade deadline (two weeks in fact). Kovalev probably said he wouldn't play again with the team, and in order to not lower the return Gainey could get, management is keeping it a secret.

A happy Kovalev can do increadible things. Markov also apparently isn't happy. Maybe traiding the two will bring back happyness in the team and maybe Souray will be willing to sign here.

No, he's saying Kovalev ISN'T a good leader and that's why he should go to San Jose because Marleau and Thornton ARE good leaders...

I think you need to re-read what he wrote. What he's saying is that Kovalev would be fantastic on a team where he's not expected to carry the offensive load.

I'm not convinced Kovy is about to be traded, TBH. If the org knew he was hurt (and IMO they had to) that may explain their patience with him -- and also why he was losing the puck so much...

I'm just seeing some comparaisons between Kovalev and Theo. Not that Kovy has been nearly as bad, but in that he is a player to whom Gainey offerred big money thinking that he would be a game breaker. Not necessarily the most consistent guy, but a game breaker. I think he hasn't lived up to expectations and, something that doesn't seem to be easily forgiven by Gainey, doesn't seem to put forth the effort.

He is 33 years old, not getting any better, troubled by injuries, probably not the most team oriented guy, has a big contract for 2 more years AND the team needs a shakeup. I think this might be it.

If Kovy is traded before the deadline, I'm gonna vote for the original poster for the 2007 poster of the year.

That would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great...

I agree....I don't think he is hurt at all. I would say that there actually was a fight in the dressing room and that Kovalev demanded to be traded and refuses to play until he is moved.....that my theory though. I hope I'm not far off either. I love Kovalev when he plays hard and makes a difference, but he has not done that in 2 years, so why bother holding on to him?? I think Bob is actively looking to move Kovalev and that Kovy won't play another game until he is with a new team!!!
