Argh, it never fails there's never any Manitoba Moose tickets left when I come across the promotion. Well here's hoping I can make it to the Monarchs game then. What's a good hotel in Manchester?

Thanks. Now I just gotta get me a passport, book a flight and the hotel. Somehow I doubt these tickets will end up being used like the ones I got last year.

Why does Omaha call themselves the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights? I know it's Nebraska backwards, but why bother? was there something wrong with being called the Omaha Knights, or the Nebraska Knights?

In 2005, the AHL franchise of the Calgary Flames (the Saint John Flames, which existed from 1993-2003) was reestablished in Omaha. The Ak-Sar-Ben part of the team's name comes from the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, an Omaha civic organization, whose logo is integrated into the insignia of the team and is a partner with the current organization. Ak-Sar-Ben, which is "Nebraska" spelled backwards, was also the name of the arena of the original Omaha Knights. The team logo is shown with identical flame marks as the Calgary logo.
