With all these rumors...

...how disapointed would you be if Gainey did nothing. No trades, no AHL call-ups (besides J.Halak) ....nothing at all. Or would you be happy about that?

Last year we didn't expect Theodore parting at the trade deadline. We were expecting Big Bert ...

So this year it might be the same thing. We're expecting Big Bert, we'll have a 9th-defenseman, and we'll part with some players that aren't worth their salary.

I wonder how the players will feel after having each heard that they were to be traded at one point and end up on the CH's roster by the 28th? All those sleepless nights for nothing!

I would like to see him trade a couple veterans for youth. That said, I would prefer to see him do nothing then trade for a veteran like Tkachuk or Guerin.

I feel something needs to be done, I'm not convinced any trades should be made but either make some trades that will improve the team for next year or get some more young guys up and see what they can do. Either way I think we need to plan for the future. I don't see trading for the Guerins, Tkachuks, etc. that are out there. If a trade is made dump some salary on one of the high paid underachievers we have for some young talent.

At first I thought a trade was needed to shake things up; however, after seeing all the trade rumors the last week I'd rather make no trades than trade for the likes of Aucoin or other high paid players we don't need.

If Gainey does nothing in the trade department, he failed as a GM this year. The team goes nowhere, players clearly dosent want to play; something has to be done.

All the deadline is really any good for is getting rentals or trading rentals for draft picks. Gainey doesn;t need to do either of those things so no, I won't be disapointed.

Well no matter what people was be disapointed, if he got a vet they would rather he keeps the prospect, pick or young player. If he trades the vets, then they wont be happy since there giving up on the seson. If he does nothing we are all mad.
Suck to be Bob.

I feel that if Gainey does nothing before the deadline, he would send a terrible message to the fans; he would somehow give up on the season and hope for the best with the current lineup. I really hope (and expect) him to do something totally unexpected, and for once, I hope it won't be addition by substraction. Certain big names in the media community, Yvon Pednault and Bob Mackenzie to name a few, are reporting that he is looking to make an impact.

I feel lonely these days, but I still believe we will make the playoffs and that we are just one first line center away from going back to being a threath in the playoffs. Unfortunately, I feel like we are going nowhere by relying too much on the farm system to get a #1 center, there is none in Hamilton that can step up within the next 2-3 years, and even then, only Grabovsky has the potential to somehow be a #1 NHL center. We have plenty of depth, great offensive wingers, even a few NHL capable defensemen, but no big first line center. And even by piling up draft picks this year, we likely wouldn't get one unless we can draft in the top ten.

But allow me to say it loud and clear, I still believe!

I feel that Gainey should make a move. I think he will. The real question is will it be a buyer move or a seller move...

If the team can somehow ignore the last couple months and return to early December form and we make no trades....I won't be disapointed.
