Jeff Friesen or Tony Amonte - Which Would You Trade Right Now?

If you had the opportunity to trade one of these guys right now for an upgrade, which one would you trade and which would you keep?

Friesen makes almost as much as Amonte, so I'd have to say Friesen.

i'd move Amonte... Amonte has produced more this season but it seems he is fading while Friesen is getting stronger... plus freeing up that $1.85 million could help us clear the space to acquire someone who might help

Both, but doubt there's much of a market for the services of either. Amonte's moe valuable right now than Friesen, which isn't saying much. If it were possible to bring in Guerin as a playoff rental, it would make Amonte more expendable.

Tony Amonte. He's older. Friesen used to be a 30 goal scorer under Sutter and he's still young. i say sutter should come back for the playoffs.

Wheres the option for 'neither'? You're not gonna get anything for these guys but a low pick. They are far more valuable in the playoffs than alot of our players.

Amonte is cursed and coughs up the puck way too often for my liking.

Friesen plays an insanely good defensive game and is probably the best guy we have on the PK. Not to mention he is in fact the yougner player.

Both are fast as hell, but Amonte makes more defensive gaffes, which IMO makes him more expendable

Amonte, Friesen is younger and can turn around. See Selanne, he wasn't playing up to his standards, and after the lockout, he became his awesome self.

How can people be mentioning Friesen on here? His hustle directly resulted in the Flames being up two men on the power play tonight.

I'd keep Friesen, cause he has never lost a game seven in his entire NHL-career so far.

Friesen has trouble scoring this season but his defensive game has helped the Flames win games. Amonte is fading in the Calgary lineup as he is barely on the ice. So trade Amonte a prospect a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Bill Guerin and Eric Brewer you can never have too many d-man.

Depending on how big the bag of pucks we get back is, I'd move them both.

I'm aware we wouldn't get much for them, that was not the point of this thread. I just basically wanted to see who Flames fans would get rid of first if given the opportunity.

You are a smart man, Java. We don't want anyone more Brennan Evans' in the playoffs! And this thread has made me realize that, although I love Tony, Friesen is better, even if he couldn't score a goal to save his own life.

first post in the shames forum but wow! i thought we had a few homers in the oilers forums but you take the cake! the amonte of 5 seasons ago could get you bill guerin and a HIGH prospect and a HIGH pick will get you brewer now cuz d-men are at a premium. amonte won't get you anything more than a low pick and a prospect the likes of moss or perhaps giordano plus a first rounder might get you someone like bryce salvadore. there's no way you'll get both guerin and brewer for amonte, a prospect, and a mid pick. sutter'll have to feed JD a lot of alcohol or something to get that deal done.

Neither guy will bring an upgrade. Teams interested in guys who may help out their teams aren't giving up much on their current rosters, and teams that are selling won't pickup either of these guys in return.

I would trade NEITHER but look to moving Marcus Nilson. Guy makes almsot as much but 1/2 the defensive player of Friesen now (due to injuries) and 1/2 the offensive player as Amonte.

Nilson is losing his job. He use to be key on the PK, now he can barely skate.
