I'm afraid that "Hab Killer" Eric Cole just killed the Habs for good tonight unfortunately.

I don't think we're sellers for two more games yet. Columbus and Washington. The last two "easy marks" before the deadline. Either the Canadiens take all four points out of those two games, or it's firesale time.

Let's see what if Halak can provide the boost we need before throwing in the towel.

But, yeah, Leafs won, Habs lost, not looking good....

20 games is plenty of time to make up 4 or 6 points. I'm not saying it's a longshot, but we aren't out of contention..

If Halak is anything less than phenominal tommorow we are done.

I'm actually looking forward to forgetting about this team for April-October and enjoying the summer. This season has been a huge turn-off.

i think we are sellers now... other team are on fire and we are lost. Cmon bob, pull the trigger. Im sure someone want of Rivet... ryder+perezhogin vs someone with grit or skills and a nose for the net on the top lines. We need to change the core on offense...but we are stuck with koivu and kovy... bleh.

No series this year.... man that is sad...

Our #1 center has 1 goal in 22 games...

Its over. Night in night out, our best players are getting their arses handed to them by the other teams best...night in night out.

Last time I saw hope it was in 2006...we are still stuck in the 20 + wins for how long now?

Does Koivu look lost or what? His passes are way off, fanning on pucks and staying out way too long....he is lost!

I agree.

This is either gonna knock us out of the slump, or it is done. If we can't wake up and beat two teams we should beat, then its really over. It was Koivu in OT vs. Caps that salvaged last season, and brought Koivu back from the dead last year.

man....if we lose games like today...it's going to be hard. On the other hand. If we play like this every game something should happen.

It's funny how everyone view an American league goalie has the new Patrick Roy, the new Savior.

Hilarious, we won't make the playoffs, I predicted it.

Exactly. Our mandate heading into tonight was to win two out of every three games for the remainder of the season. We lost a heartbreaker tonight despite a good effort from most of the players. There are still two games left in the current three game set. Win them, then it's on to the next three game set.

We will win tomorrows game and then go from there....Use tonights effort to build on and get a huge win, and start our climb back to the playoffs! Remember we can beat Buffalo, we just have to make the playoffs to give ourselves that chance!

The most annoying thing about this dive is the "I told you so" crowd coming out of the woodwork as if they had some meaningful insight, which they never do.

TheDamned half-heartedly predicted we wouldn't make the playoffs back when Downey said the Habs could get to the SCF.

Then again, I'm pretty sure that anyone can corroborate such a statement if they really tried to.

Sad?

What's sad is the hundreds that die everyday in Iraq, or global warming that will end up killing us all.

This is a hockey game, it's not sad, it's not even really important.

Oh, I'm sure he did. There was no shortage of doom-and-gloomers at the start of the season, mostly because it's fashionable to be doom-and-gloom about the Habs.

But look, none of them were talking during that 21-9 stretch.

Iraq is is a preventable tragedy, global warming is BS, IMHO. And yes, hockey is very, very important to me. Being a hockey fan is an absolute pleasure, and being a Habs fan is a fundamental right under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Yeah isn't that amendment between the right to carry arms, and free speech?

It won't be easy, that's for sure. Why? Mathematics.

Right now, the Habs have 64 points. You have to figure that 94 points will be the magic number to reach the playoffs this year. Add it up, 30 points in 22 games should do it.

So that's pretty much 15 wins in 22 games. Possible?
