Tomorrow's media reaction

Terry Jones (Written while cramming the remnants of the pressroom buffet down his gullet between cans of Coke): "I say it's over. I say the Oilers have sewered the season. I say the Oilers are sellers. It's official because I say so. I . . . I . . . I . . ."

Joanne (Just The Facts) Ireland: It was not to be for the Edmonton Oilers at the Air Canada Centre last night as Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dave Keon scored two goals in a 5-3 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers.
The Oilers, desperately needing a win on the fourth stop of an eight-game road trip to stay in the playoff race in the Pacific Division . . .

Gene Principe (With the aroma of KLowe's seat cushion still filling his nostrils): Last night's 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs was a heartbreaker and a game the Oilers deserved a better fate in, but there's still four games left on the road trip. Joining us now, Toby Petersen.
"Great game, Toby. Tough luck tonight, though. You've performed so well on the point on the power play and made MacT look like a genius so far. Tells us about that, will you?"

So it goes . . .

ireland's piece will be more like this:

to a man, the edmonton oilers knew they had a major challenge ahead of them saturday night. each of the players prepared extra hard knowing that they were on a 4 game losing streak in games with pre game ceremonies.

craig mactavish addressed the issue in his comments following the morning skate.

just my two pet peeves of ireland's writing (besides the plethora of factual mistakes): the quotes taken after the morning skate that are constantly used in the game story and the stupid way she starts every article to try and tell the story.

Goaltending is the least of our worries. The team doesn't seem to have any heart or care. We can't score. Our defense is questionable. To be honest, Roli is the only strength we have. Is he in line for the Vezina? No. But he is a good goalie and probably would look better with more support in front of him.

We have much bigger problems than goaltending.

Oilers do not have secondary scoring that is what is killing them. As a Flames fan this is why the Flames are in the playoff as they do not always have to look at Iginla to score they have other people who can score where as the Oilers always look at Smyth to score goals and when he is not playing well the team does not rally around another player they just giveup.

Wow....So many things wrong here...I'm not even an Oiler fan but I 100% disagree with you here. The Oilers don't always look to Smyth to score goals. They've got a great second line that can put the puck in the net. The only reason you can say what you did is because Huselius is having a breakout season...Get ready to get roasted

I'll happily trade you some punctuation for Iginla.

The semicolon should go; he's underused and only functions well when being sheltered by the damn colon.

Wow As an Oilers fan I can see you have no idea what you are talking about

According to TSN with Smyth injured we are 10-6. Doesnt sound like they have just gave up!!

Good call. I was willing to offer some of our question marks (which we're embarrassingly rich in) but now I'm thinking if we go with the semicolon, a couple question marks AND that failed experiment of an exclamation point Mac T insists on using, we might just have enough for a package deal of Iginla and Kipper.
