Game over. Good to get the 2 points; could've played better, but whatever 2 points is 2 points.

They should seriously consider a fire sale. They lose to Philly and are in a one goal game vs. Chicago? Looks like another 4 and out even if we make it into the PO's.

Would have liked to see a bit more in the second half...but they got the job done. Time to get ready for the home and home vs. NJD. Need at least 2 points from that series.

Especially when those two goals were scored at the begining of the game, but whatever it's a win. I was expecting a blowout, but at least we're back to one point behind the isles.

I agree with that, but that doesn't mean I cant criticize a boneheaded play.

You need to be able to roll 4 lines. If you cant play Orr late, then you can't do that, which impacts the rest of the team. That's one of the reasons I dont like Orr. All he does is make 3 hits a game, gets into a fight.

When he then goes and takes a dumb, lazy, bass ackwards penalty in the 3rd period of a close game, he gets exposed as what he is.

A crappy player that shouldn't even be in this league.

Comeon man be real. Who you gonna sell off? No one wants Malik, Jagr's not going anywhere, Straka's re-signed, Shanahan is someone you just forfeit a good return to keep around and on the team, Roszival is the closest thing we have to a reliable defenseman who can do everything.

IMO Nylander and Ward are the only pieces we have.

Thank you, It's been a mediocre season, you don't have fire sales after a mediocre season.

why would a team 1 point out of a playoff spot have a fire sale?

Good lord.

When we lose, we suck.

When we win, we don't win convincingly enough?

Give me a break. You don't get style points; you get win points.

The point is you can't really be talking about a firesale simply because they only won by a goal. I would have agreed if they blew the game in the third and came away with only a point, or less. There are no free wins in the NHL today, so I can't be down on the team for getting the job done. They should have been up more, but it didn't work out that way. Take the 2 points and move on. If they get blown out twice by the Devils it's time to talk firesale.

2 points are big, but i must admit, i was quite bored throughout the game. maybe it was the announcers who dulled me to sleep.
