forcing Comrie to pay up,but I don`t blame him , his hands were forced by Comrie and his agent Winter , to bypass the college route to the WHL , giving him ridiculous first round money, when he was a third round pick, then getting all that bonus money( have to blame all the owners on this one , for getting money for having a heart beat etcc...) BUT YOU
CAN`T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS COMRIE. You wan`t out , wait for a proper deal or pay up buddy. He received 8.5 mil over the least 2 years for
getting what 60 points a year, obviously the new CBA will put an end to this stuff but you were the highest paid player on the team the last 2 years , crapped in the playoffs, can`t take criticism when it was due,
and now you want out , on your terms , GOOD GOING KEVIN.
I can't blame Edmonton for taking this drastic step.
Year after year Kevin Lowe puts together a competitive, exciting team, on a shoe string budget. Every few years he has to fill huge holes left by departing players he can't afford to resign and now he has to deal a malcontent prima donna in Comrie.
Lowe can say it's just business, but come on there must be something personal here... Even Bobby Clarke didn't do this to Lindros! Comrie is gonna half to fire his agent, obviously he is to blame here, underestimating Kevin Lowe... Brian Burke must be some impressed with Lowe on this one. Comrie has to realize now that the younger players have NO leverage in these situations, they should just shut up and play and take their millions to the bank. Shame on the agent Rich Winter for not figuring this out!
