Canucks to dress UBC goalie tonight...

Yes you read right, the Canucks asked for and got permission to dress a goalie from the University of British Columbia for tonights game vs the Penguins. This kid is 23, undrafted, un...everything.

Well at least they probably made the kids day!

Levesque or something was his name, he's backing up Johan Hedberg. Cloutier got hurt too late for the Canucks to get Moss or Auld up to Vancouver, so they requested permission to borrow Levesque from UBC for tonight's game.

That's awesome

Can you imagine how happy this kid is? This will be incredible for him. Something he can tell his kids many, many years from now.

Man, thats ever CIS kid's dream, right there. He doesn't even have to play. Just dressing for the game would be an absolute thrill.

Levesque has played 34 games with the Thunderbirds. He's 0-4-1 with a 4.77 goals-against average in seven games this season.
Look at those numbers.

Do they pay him ? Min wage is about $4500 per game. Can they even pay him or will he lose his college elegibilty ?

Id like to know.

I believe the article said that he signed an 'Amatuer Contract.' Whatever that is. I'm assuming he didn't get paid.

I wasn't watching... Hedberg got hurt.... did the dude go in, or did Hedberg tough it out?

he walked it off, the Kid looked like he just **** his pants when hedburg was down but Johan got up and finneshed the game.

tis a shame that the Pens kept it close had it been 3-0 instead of 3-3 in the 3rd I'd pull Johan and give the Kid the last 5 Minutes or so.

Anyone have a picture of him sitting on the bench when Hedberg went down? That was hilarious. The poor guy looked terrified.

Crawfords look was better. He had a rather sarcastic smile heh. You could see him mumble something to Levesque as well heh.
