I don't have any interest in trading Komisarek.

Again? Snow/Wang/whoever is in charge of the Isles supposedly wants to recruit local boys. I wouldn't look into this too seriously though as I seriously doubt Gainey is considering moving Komisarek at the moment. It'll be interesting to see what happens when Komi's a UFA though.

I don't see that the Isles have the pieces to make that happen though...

They would have to make a set up deal before if they want Gainey to listen. They would have to acquire a young hard-hitting defensive d-man and then, add Okposo to the package. Then, Gainey would listen. Not do the deal, listen...

I'd do Komisarek for Okposo in a heartbeat. I don't think that whichever clown is actually running the Isles would be that stupid though.

Okay guys, I don't want to have to repeat myself about five times. The Isles organization is trying to recruit local boys and Komisarek was born in that area. This just means that Snow is asking questions, not that Gainey listening.

Remember there was a trade that apparently on the verge of being confirmed (was it this year or last, I can't remember). Something like Komisarek + someone for Grebeshkov + someone. Turned out it was just a bunch of crap.

Smacks of severe overpayment. Okposo's only move will be from Bloomington to Uniondale.

While it would be great to have Kommie back home, and while I think he would fit the mold of the team concept, it would take a decent sized package to bring him here. Add to that the fact that NYI and MTL are neck and neck in the standings, so why would it benefit either team to help out an opponent that they're trying to overtake for a playoff spot?

Interesting to see this rumour originating from the north side of the border for a change though. Last year it started here, and we knew it was ersatz because of it.

Komisarek is what this team has needed for awhile.. Look at this projected future D..
Komisarek - Markov
Emelin - O'Byrne
Valentenko - Carle.

Offense, size, meanness and smart on every pairing. Oh my god.

According to the press, the Islanders have had interest in Komisarek for like two years now. It makes zero sense to trade him, especially since he's our only decent defenseman who isn't UFA next season.

I liked Valentenko at the WJHC's, how's he been playing since?

I don't see the Habs trading Komi any time soon, the guy keeps getting better every season. He'll be a cornerstone of our defense in the future. Glad to see that he's been shooting more since he got his first goal of the season (a while ago).

This guy plays much better defence when he's hitting people. What bugged me about his dry spell was that not only did he turn the puck over alot but he wasn't even dishing out punishment. His recent form has improved.

Pretty good, I don't know too much since he's in the RSL. He's not all that offensive, however at the WJHC he showed his booming slap-shot, he needs more accuracy. He's big, nasty and mean. Much like Emelin. We seem to be finding some gems of defensemen out of Russia.

Heres a look at the scouting report for Okposo from HF:

At the pro level, Okposo will have to hone his skating skills in order to be the top player at the pro level that he was in the USHL and should be in college. He is every bit of the 6’0, 195 pounds that he is listed at. Okposo should become an NHL power forward who skates on the first or second line and receives plenty of power play time. He could approach Jarome Iginla, as they play similar games and Okposo could end up as big as Iginla.

hmmm, makes you think...

Komisarek is a monster... Big guy, learning to use his weight and solid in his own zone. Sign him long-term.

I love Okposo, but I love Komi more, and yeah, that's all that I need to say right now.
