New goaltender from this year's draft

Does anyone think the Flyers should pick a goaltender first or second overall in this year's draft? Or with the Nashville pick? Or no?

No. No. No.

Terrible draft in terms of goalie depth. I wouldn't be surprised if no goalies are taken in the 1st round. If we take a netminder, it won't be until the mid-to-late rounds.

Ah ok. Didn't know the goalies were that bad in this year's draft. Damn for once I wish the Flyers could draft a Brodeur type goaltender.

You're not alone on that. Unfortunately, goalies of Brodeur's caliber come around about once a decade or so.

The best goalie prospect is considered to be Trevor Cann. And if they take him with either of their 1st round picks I will shoot Paul Holmgren, he'd be lucky if he was taken in round 2.

When the Devils drafted Brodeur, I don't think they thought they were getting a Brodeur type goaltender. You don't plan for that.

Yep..stay away from that position in the first round for sure. A goalie will have to be had from FA if there's one worth pursuing.

I have not been impressed with Trevor Cann at all. Yikes.

There should not be a goalie taken this year until at least mid-3rd round. I'd even go as far as the beginning of the 4th round. It's a deep draft, just not for goalies.

1990 draft Brodeur was drafted 20 overall same year Trevor Kidd was drafted 11th. Sometimes you just get lucky. Im all for drafting a goalie with Nashvilles 1st pick or our 2nd but that 1st overall pick belongs to Patrick Kane.

If we use NAS's 1 or any of our 2's to draft a goalie this year we're idiots. We could easily package the NAS 1 if we really wanted a goalie for someone who's already been drafted and playing well. For example, with Luongo in VAN for the next half decade, I'm sure we could grab Schneider.
