My prediction: Caps win 6-4. Ovechkin gets 3 goals.

It's his first game in Montreal, so he may have some nerves tonight.

He was tearing up the AHL, though, leading the league in GAA and tied for the lead in shutouts.

I won't go that far, and honestly can't tell if your being sarcastic or not...but,

I predict at least 1 goal, maybe 2. He's had 3 games in a row now where he has 5+ shots. Just going by history, that he will be due tonight...for at least one goal...

I was pretty angry when Montreal selected Perezhogin in 2001 (pick from the Zubrus/Linden trade) but haven't really paid attention to him really since his suspension. What happened? He looked like a lock for 20 goals a year at this level. Looking back, the entire 2nd round/late first looks pretty dismal.

Steckel's nice to have on board though.

Nope not sarcastic. I have a gut feeling. I posted the same thing a few hours ago in the official game day thread over on the official boards too.

He's played a handful of games since then. He even got a goal against the Devils last week in a loss.

Thanks. I haven't watched the Habs play since then and I haven't seen these boards explode like it did when he was on waivers so it came as a surprise to me.

Samsonov missed 2 or 3 games while been on waiver + 1 game afterward. Since then, he's been in the lineup.

He isnt worth anything remotely close to 3.5M, but he's still not have been horrible enough to be in the stands.

Especially with Kovalev, Johnson, Begin, Rivet all missing games recently...+ Huet.
