There are a few threads over on the trade rumor boards where he has been mentioned. Not specifically as a subject of any rumor, but it's an interesting thought nonetheless. I have to admit that I know nothing about his salary or contract situation. All I know is that he's a good young player and may fit in with our crew here. Discuss.
I would like to add him, he is a very talented player who hasn't fit in well in Edmonton. I would be surprised if the Oilers don't move him this summer.
I thought that a Lupol for Zherdev deal would make a lot of sense since both players are not fitting in well with their current clubs and could use a change (both in terms of city and style of play).
But if the Caps had a chance to add him, i personally think he is a much better player to target than Zherdev, who we all talked about in a previous thread.
Lupal is having the worst year of his career....I think he misses the Cali beaches.

Basically, hold the lupul for junk trades.
8 minutes... not bad.
I think replies from Pens fans to crosby digs are a little quicker though.
Not to long ago Eminger was far from junk, and he is a young defensemen with offensive potential. So i'd say this trade is pretty good for both teams, god knows the Oilers need D. How about this
Eminger and McNeil for Lupul?

Hmm....still looking for the Lupal for junk trades here....maybe theyre on the main trade boards.
I would give Eminger, Suts, and Flash for Lupul. Hell, I'd give a little more.
A young RW making 1.5M and has the potential for 30-40g/yr.
Here, let's test it out. Crosby sucks. If he wasn't screwing around with the puck at the end of the Isle game they would have at least got a point. That loss is all on him....
I havent seen Eminger play buy he looks like a decent player. TSN has him as a top 2 Dman which would be far from "junk". Would WSH do a Lupul + Mikhnov for Eminger + 1st? 1st would be hard to get rid of but the return is great. Ovechkin will probably prefer Mikhnov on his line over Lupul giving you 2 good lines.

and............. GO!
That's just crazy....
David Poile stop hiding behind this bogus screen name and get back to the Nashville boards.

I personally say no to the 1st round pick and really don't want Miknov. So if McNeil isn't a good enough + to eminger than I would gladly give up Flash instead or one of our many 2nd teir d-prospects

I'm stunned cause I don't know if that's a compliment or not. But what else can I do over at Nashville now that I traded a large piece of the farm the last two years (not including Beech )
What can I get for that deal minus Eminger, Suds, and the 3rd rounder?
ewww....
seriously, he is exactly the kinda player we could use here to help make our top 6 more legit and allow a guy like Clark to go to his natural checking line RW. i could picture him lining up on either AO's or AS's RW and being very productive.

I agree that he is the perfect player to add if available for reasonable to slightly overpayment. But I'd like to see the second line of :
what about swinging a trade of Zuby for Lupul & a throw in?
they get a 2-way guy that can play pivot and RW and provides depth while also putting up better #s that JL has this season
heck my be able to get another young guy that cant crack their lineup yet
EDM is about 8pts out of the playoff. Not sure if they'd trade Lupul for a rental. I don't think that Zubrus is enough to get him either. I'd give Eminger + Zubrus to them for JL. Zubrus would take Lupul's spot on the RW and they'd at least have Eminger from the deal if they can't re-sign Zubrus.
That being said, I don't see EDM getting rid of him unless they get multiple, cheap, younger players.... which I why I said Eminger + Suts + Flash. They've always loved Suts up there, Eminger needs a change of scenery, and Flash needs a chance on the left side on the NHL level. All 3 could be booms for EDM and may be worth an underachieving young player of their own.
There is a line of thought that the Oilers would want a huge return since he was the centerpiece of the Pronger deal last year. Not sure whether his poor showing this year lightens this up or not. It would definitely be bad PR for the Oilers to turn around and trade him for leftovers though. I'm thinking that our offer may have to include more than Eminger+Flash.

i was kinda thinking the same thing - that they would need to get a "name" back since Lupul was part of the Pronger trade... thats why i suggested Zuby. and he could fill in ASAP for their run ... sitting at 8th they have to make a trade for now, not the future ... Zuby could be both for them...
