Sure does sound empty there...

Awesome of us to do all of our scoring in the first period.

Note to Pettinger:

ALWAYS pass it to the franchise guy when he's going to the net...

SO

I think I saw Hanlon write down Gordon, Bradley, and Brashear.
Wilson stalling, saying his laptop is rebooting...

Someone needs to inform Pettinger last season was a fluke, and on a 2 on 1, he better pass. Especially when the guy he's going with is Ovechkin.

I understand Ovechkin's on a big slump, but Pettinger just thinks shoot first and never pass.

Ovechkin's career on shootouts: 1 for 9
Crosby's career record on shootouts: 1 for 9

they are BOTH highly overated players obviously.

I'm pretty sure those numbers are wrong...

if they're going to lose, can they at least lose in regulation? It's all about draft position now.

Pretty sure now all fans are doom and gloom. Wonder what will happen this weekend. Does Johnson play back to back or can we at least see what the future may hold as far as goalies?
If I were AO I would demand a trade. If I was Olie I would demand a trade. Of course Olie is hurt and AO cant demand anything. To bad. He could have been a great player.

4-10-3 in their last 17 games certainly backs up any hint of doom and gloom.

They don't play anyone below them in the standings the rest of the way:

Florida 3 games
Tampa Bay 3 games
Atlanta 2 games
New Jersey 2 games
NY Islanders 2 games
Buffalo 2 games
Carolina 2 games
Toronto 2 games
Boston 1 game
Montreal 1 game
Pittsburgh 1 game

Trading Zednik, Zubrus, and Heward will hurt this team down the stretch even more than it looks...

The Cap trap happened to him. He was told to play a game differant than he was used to. Play defense they said.

Cassivi should play this weekend (though I wouldn't consider him as the future...).

Clemmensen is going to play one of the two games for the Devils, apparently.

I actually thought Ovechkin played better. He's still slumping but he seemed more focused...he wasn't trying to score goals single-handedly at every opportunity. He had a couple of great passes (which, no suprise, were flubbed). He was held off of the score sheet once again and that's a mounting concern (as is the play of the other Alexander) but AO looked to be thinking more when he had the puck on his blade.

Once again the third & fourth line were the best forwards lines for the Caps. Why? Because they showed more effort and intensity.

Maybe we're setting the table for Gomez in the summer

Needless to say, this weekend will be pretty boring...

It's something more than just that. He just doesn't seem to be himself when carrying the puck. He's still throwing his body around but he's looking to pass more now than crashing the net the way he used to.

Thats a lame excuse.

He's had the puck so much on his stick and he hasnt done a ****ing thing with it. He's hasnt done ****. He has the puck on his stick so much during the PP, even strength and any situation when he's on the ice.

Yet he hasnt done ****. Last 9 games he's had a VERY fluky goal and a secondary assist against the lowly kings.

Something is wrong. It's beyond the lame trap excuse. Well beyond
