Calgary Flames @ Phoenix Coyotes (2/22/07)

I think we're likely to see McLennan in net for this one. Hopefully Playfair rests Kiprusoff for saturday. I just hope we show up and put forward a solid effort.

Phoenix is just 2-7-1 in their last 10 games, should be an easy win. If Sabourin can beat Anaheim, McLennan can beat Phx

i want to see mclennan in for this one and 1-2 more games after the phx game, kipper really does look tired and even if it's not he needs a slap upside the head to get him straight again.

my prediction flames squeak it out with a scary looking win at 5-4.

if this team doesnt get the puck out of their own end and doesnt show some heart this wont be as easy as it should be

That comparison makes no sense.... If Sabourin can beat Anaheim, then Kiprusoff should beat Colorado???

If anything, the flames need these 2 points badly, so it would be safer to pay kipper...

Is Craig Conroy out with an injury? 'Cause I read this morning in the paper that he missed practice with some kind of elbow injury. Didn't say whether or not he'd play tonight, though, so I don't know if it's anything serious. The Flames website has him in the probable line up for tonight though. Anybody hear anything?

On the fan this afternoon they said Conroy is likely to miss the game tonight with a wrist or elbow injury (?), but may end up playing. Either way, he hasn't done much since his first 2 games and has been a passenger. Maybe getting the 04 guys doesn't do anything and sends the team the wrong message that if they reunite the team things will just happen.

Regardless, Calgary better tighten up defensively! I call a big time 3-1 Flames Win.

Iggy, Tanguay, Hamrlik

Nolan

I disagree. Conroy has been a big help for us and has been anything but a passenger. Sure, he's had some pointless games since arriving, but he's also had some really good ones, definately a lot more than 2.

Amonte looks good out there tonight. Perhaps this is his night?

Jerome needs to stop fishbowling. If he didn't do that, he'd be one of my favorites.

Roger says that the Flames are "flirting with disaster" in their own zone. I disagree; we're a long way past "flirting." We've got disaster naked in our collective bed.

So now that Phoenix has tied this game, this is the part where we self destruct. What a horrible PP to end that period.

it was... i have no idea why Playfair didnt get Iggy, Langkow and Huselius out sooner... he should have had them out there with just under a minute left... not 15 seconds

Yep. I agree. I don't know why Amonte was out there. Lately I wonder if this team even wants to win anymore.

"... and Tony Amonte can't clear the zone."

I think I heard that phrase from the announcers about 2 times a period. Unbelievable. This team is pathetic on the road. We should consider ourselves lucky to of gotten out of this one with a point.
