OT: Cashing SportSelect in Edmonton

Thanks to the shootouts tonight (and the Oilers), I just won $940 on Sport Select.

I always have trouble cashing 200-400 tickets, does anyone know where I can find a store with that much cash to give me?

THX!

Any place that has the official WCLC sign in the window has to cash tickets under $1000. The ones that don't only have to cash tickets under $200.

Bingo Hall

The bigger bingo halls may have alot of money, if they sell lottery tickets.

It's a matter of finding a place that actually has that much cash on hand.

Yes, most places can't have a certain amount of money out... So it bascially leaves you with having to go to a gambling site. Like a casino (which i do) or bingo hall (not sure, but dude mentioned it above).

I had trouble back in the day finding a place to cash my big sport select tickets. So, now I just internet gamble.. ha.

If they have the sign up they are required by the lottery corporation to have the money on hand. This was explained to me when I was trying to cash a $450 ticket on a early sunday morning in Red Deer a couple of months ago. The first 2 places I went to didn't have the sign up and told me they could only cash tickets for $200 or less, at the second place though the guy told me to look for a store that had the sign up because they were required to have the cash on hand. I went to a drug store that had the sign up and sure enough they had the money, she had to go into back and the get money out of safe but it was there.

Where do you bet online? I used to since SS is a HUGE scam, but the US legislation screwed me and now I can't..

Do you mean multi colored sign that's up everywhere with a lottery terminal? Or the logo at the top left of www.wclc.com?

Thanks for all the help guys, btw.

It's that 6 sided symbol, it's repeated on the right hand side of your ticket. Congrats on the win by the way.

Cheers.

There are pubs/bars that have WCLC outlets - Teddy's Pub on Jasper Ave for one example. They'll cash it for sure, they hand out far more on their countless VLTs.

YOu played point spread right? Cause SO wins count as ties for pro line.... unless you picked ties and it went to a SO... then good for you son those are tricky beasts to pick.

I bet on http://www.sports.com and http://www.pinnaclesports.com. I swap sports books every month for some reason. Very risky betting online too. so I empty out my account at a certain point so i dont get jacked since you nver know.

ANyways yeah, Americans can't bet online anymore.. sucks for them. so if you're american. ****** deal i guess.

The best gambling website is www.sportsinteraction.com It's Canadian, so absolutely no worries about losing your account.

Can bet moneyline, make a bet card with however many games you want, etc. NFL is great too - can bet by each quarter, etc.

Obviously it's hard to beat the system. I started betting small when I turned 18, lost about $100 in total (Yeah I was a pansy better - no more than $5), and haven't bet in over a year. Just kind of grew out of it.

Anyways, how much did you bet to win 940?

Sorry but sportsinteraction is one of the worst rated books out there. I would never reccomend them, I used to use them a few years ago. They have inflated lines, inflated juice, lines are posted extremely late, a lot of games are left off the board (college), and people constantly have issues with payouts.
I have used pinnacle for the last 2 years and they are great, reduced juice and extremley early lines posted, tons of in game betting options also never had problems with payouts. year n year out one of the top rated books.
check out http://www.sportsbookreview.com for info on all the books.

Try nine.com or superbook.com

You have to do a bit of faxing to validate your Credit card, but other than that, 'tis all good.

Thanks for all the advice to online betting guys, I can't stand Sport Select but I have to get my fix somehow!

To those inquiring about my picks...

I did a 6 pick combo play with 3 game combos + standard play, which was $42. For those unfamiliar with combo play, it's just an easy way of playing every type of combination of 3-6 games. So my ticket was 20 3 game combos, $2 a piece.

OTT BUF tie
NJ NYR tie
TOR NYI tie
EDM win
PHI win
TB ATL tie

The Philly game went to OT and PHI had a PP, but was scored on SH. The TB ATL game was 1:30 away from going to a tie.

If I had nailed those last two, the standard play alone is over 20k. It probably wouldve been somewhere in the 30-35 thousand range.... Can you imagine?

EDIT - There's no such thing as a legal book in Edmonton right? Someone told me there's one operating out of the casino in St Albert but I can't imagine how that's legal. What I need to do is find myself a bookie
