Is the Australian hockey league still in business?
Yes. Yes it is. http://www.theaihl.com.au/
Betting on those games last year was cool. The league season is winding down, but looking at the schedule there are still 20 or so games to go.
And something that might influence the betting, former Cap Mel Angelstand just joined the Adelaide Avalanche for a Cup run.
http://www.adelaideavalanche.com/index.php The Adelaide Avalanche have today pulled off a major coup ahead of an assault on the Australian Ice Hockey League playoffs in September, with confirmation that former NHLer Mel Angelstad has signed for the remainder of the 2007 season.
Four seasons ago, Angelstad iced in the NHL for Washington Capitals in two games, having spent the previous six campaigns with teams in the top minor leagues, the AHL and IHL protecting young NHL stars of the future.
An excited Alan Yarrow said of the signing: "We have been working very hard behind the scenes to secure an impact player that we need in the run-up to the AIHL playoffs."
Hah, in his first game he was scoreless with 14 PIMs.
Yes, I live in Columbus and leave for the area on game nights around 3:30pm (so many bars, so little time) and today is a game night , so if the odds ain't up soon, Ra and God is Avery will continue to bury me!
This is going to be a classic boxing match to go down in history. I'm a big Floyd fan, but I think he's going down; underestimates everyone now. But I love his call:
"43-0? Well he didn't fight 43 Mayweathers, otherwise he'd be 0-43"
