Berezin signs in russia
Gazeta.ru reports that Sergei Berezin choose CSKA and will sign a contract with the club for the reminder of the season.
Sergei was supposed to arrive in Moscow Wednesday evening and planned to attend CSKA-Ak Bars game the same day.
Berezin was a regular on team Russia in the middle of 90-es including Olympic Games in 1994 and World Cup 96.
He was drafted in 1994 by Toronto Maple leafs in the 8th round, 256th overall. He played for a German hockey club in Cologne before he joined the Maple Leafs.
There were at least 7 Superleague clubs looking for his services including Khimik, Voskresensk, the city where he was born.
"I always choose what's best for me, I had offers from NHL clubs but I got better offer in Russia. Also, there is a lockout expected in NHL next year...." - said 32 year old forward.
