Habs last 6 years at the deadline

Check out what the Habs have done at the deadline last 6 years:

http://www.habsinsideout.com/2007/02...nce_1999/#more

Hardly earth shattering, the last real move was Andre Savard's!!!

Although Gainey did swing a couple of deals in the days before the deadline:

1) Theo the night before last year, for Abbi we hardly use;
2) The Kovy deal a week or so before the deadline.

So based on history:

1) Don't expect much
2) If something of significance should occur, Gainey's habit is to get it done before rather than on D-Day.

Do you think we'll get Simpson back?

well you can't expect us to have a significant trade every year at the deadline. And this only speaks of the last day. i would like to see a list of the deals we pulled of around the deadline (ie last 2 weeks)

I don't really care because personnaly, I don't want Gainey to be a buyer. Best scenario for me would be a swap of players: Habs give UFA D + veterant that is currently injuried for a UFA forward and a D that has no elbow injury.

Therefore, on a short term scale, things get even, but we are sure to rely on an additional D for next season in case negociations with Markov and/or Souray and/or Rivet aren't doing well.
