Just saw some pre-game comments from the coaches on TSN. Hitchcock called the Devils "one of the dirtiest teams in the league...they're just smart about it." I don't care how smart you are about it you can't be one of the dirtiest teams with the least amount of penalties in the league.

There's more Devil fans in posting in this thread then will be at the game tonight.
Woah! What trouble times it be when we can only poke fun of the little ******** from the swamp by making fun of their fan base. Joyful were the times when we could actually make fun of their team. I hope Scott Stevens retires very soon.
...and the ranks of quality Philadelphia posters continue to dwindle...
Apologies to John Flyers Fan, JCD, PizzapieZeppelin and others who can actually engage in intelligent hockey banter without beating the 'Devils are boring and have no fans' cliches.
All 3 of those fans are good posters. JCD was especially level headed and objective with regards to the Devils and Flyers last year in the playoffs. Wish he would post more often. He definately knows his stuff.

... and to think Pat Burns was being trashed in the Flyers forum for the comments in todays NY Post where he said the officials should keep a close eye on some of the Flyers mannerisms after the whistles to prevent the game from totally getting way out of hand. Which one sounds more like complaining when you look at both statements in full context?
Burns was quoted in all the other NJ papers today as saying he's not surprised at all that the Flyers are having as great of a season as they are with guys like Roenick, Amonte, and their impressive D. He called them a pretty good team in contrast.
Berglund with a great hit right after Chris Therien throws down Gionta. Bicek looked up to the task on his first shift with a solid hit and good foot speed. This is one game where Turner Stevenson's presence and willingness to crash the net will be missed. Hopefully Rupp, Bicek, and Berglund will all continue to go hard to the net. Burns is really rewarding Gomez tonight after saying his last game was one of his best this season.
Devils get the first PP. Roenick in the box for obstruction-tripping at 14:03. Gionta almost made it 1-0. Good puck movement so far.
Pandolfo screens and Brylin scores with an innocent looking shot coming from around the net.
Before you laugh over this take heart in the fact that the TSN guys just mentioned there is a massive traffic jam getting to the arena to the point where the Flyers and Pat Burns both were late getting to the game. Tons of fans still fighting the traffic from what they said.
