The goal-waving call was bullcrap. Way too close to call that, especially since Blake was right behind Keane. Had he been all alone, maybe, but... Dvorski clear did the "make up call" with Selanne. It was a hold but players get away with that degree of obstruction all the time. Oh well. Hopefully the rest is "let em play, boys" hockey!

That call might serve to crank the emotions up even more though, because Crawford went absolutely berserk. I was laughing my ass off when they showed the replay at the end of the period. He is fast becoming my favorite coach; his tirades are the greatest.

I definately agree. This is the way hockey should be played, end to end action, big hits, and great saves. Nothing gets better than that. It's got a playoff game atmosphere.

The goalie interference call was the worst call I have seen this season in a Canucks game, for or against. This goalie protection stuff is getting stupid.

I think we just got a penalty here, interference. Could be wrong though. (We being the Canucks)

1-1

It's a brand new game.

A lot less scoring than I thought.

5 seconds left. Faceoff in the Canucks zone.

Hate to say it, Wings fans, Blues fans, but these two teams are the best teams in the conference overall. The level of play here is something that you only see maybe 10 times in a season.

I thought Blake and Jovanovski absolutely dominated this game. Both of them, to me, are Norris Trophy canidates #1 and #2 (in that order), Pronger is probobly in there too somewhere. Absolutely phenomenal play by David Aebischer, and Auld was not bad at all either.

My 3 stars would be:

#1 - David Aebischer
#2 - Rob Blake
#3 - Ed Jovanovski

However, consider it a #4, Todd Bertuzzi ran roughshod over the Avs defense all night. Nobody could contain him, not even Foote or Blake. If Bert puts games like this together more often, he could score 50 goals in his sleep. Sadly, games like this for Bertuzzi come along once every 10 games at this time of the year.

Best game of the season, no doubt in my mind.

Good Lord, Aebisch stole that game for the Avs ... are you guys still questioning him and he's been playing like this all along ????

Bert should have a 4 goal night.

Dominating would have been a 4 - 0 win. 1 - 1 tie is hardly a domination. We outplayed 'em, yes, but FAR FAR from dominating.

I should add, that perhaps was the best effort by the Canucks all season.

Yawn. Boring hockey. Ruining the game etc. Oh wait, the Devils weren't playing. In that case, what an nailbitingly close game! Awesome! ..

We'll trade you Skoula for a bag of pucks straight up.

Bertuzzi is scary good. Great game.

Son of a *****! Well. The score doesn't settle much, but it looks like the Canucks shelled Aebi. Did either team dominant the other? Any standout players?(other than the goal scorers?) Was the Van Goal a soft one? Thoughts on the game?

I am so bitter about not having Center Ice yet

edit-a bit slow with this post, thanks for the commentary.

It's called scoring chances and not playing 90% of the game in the neutral zone.

A bag of pucks is over payment...one puck...two tops is the most you will get

Vancouver definately outplayed the Avs. The Avs seemed to be on their heels a bit. Aebi was fantastic, his best game of the season by far. Blake had a nice game as well. Sakic was scary good tonight.

It's games like this when Devils and Wild fans dont know what they're missing.
