If true, that's no good.

Edit: Conditional pick maybe?

Yeah, he sounds psyched!...awesome! So what did we give up? Nashville's 1st rounder?

But if you look at it as Forsberg for Scottie, Parent, Biron it is not so bad.

But for ****s sake, we could have gotten the ********** in free agency!

ON HIS CONTRACT: He said that is "way too early to go into that." He doesn't know for whom/what he was dealt. Makes me think something else is up.

Yeah he's happy to be a starter.

They haven't talked about a contract. That makes me nervous if we gave up a first.

by giving up the 1st rounder, they can now talk to him about a long term contract without any other teams playing a part

I would bet not conditional. Buffalo is gearing up for a long playoff run and to trade one of their few tradeable assets for a pick conditional after the year makes no sense. They have to be clearing salary and using the Nashville pick for a bigger move later.
To me, this trade is worse for Buffalo if nothing else goes down.

OK, there is a hidden variable to all this. Otherwise, the specifics of the Biron acquisition would have been announced.

On the surface, a strange trade for both teams. Buffalo was looking for depth with all their injury issues.

So everyone lets make him feel welcome so he wants to stay here and not rip him for every rebound he gives up and soft goal he lets in (a la Nitty and Esche) or run him out of town (Calder and hopefully York)!!!

I've now heard two things:

A conditional first if he re-signs.

A second rounder.

Which is it?

Any chance Holmgren turns right around and deals him. Maybe somebody has something Homer likes but couldn't or wouldn't offer up the 1st rounder? (If its a 1st).

Buffalo was hard up against the cap, and needed to clear Biron's salary as a pre-requisite to anybody being added.

I'd be highly surprised if they are done for the day, now that they have almost $3M in cap room and a few high draft picks to play with.

If Esche has been dealt, the other part of that transaction may factor into the Biron trade.

WGR here in Buffalo is reporting it's for Nashvilles second round pick? Did you guys have that. We just needed the cap space right now. Take care of Marty
