I hate the games like tonight where I notice players like LaRose and Tanabe more so than our stars like Staal and Williams. Nothing against Chad or David, but more often than not, we don't get things done that way.
So...I guess everyone was right when they said that the fact that our front office didn't make any moves would fire up our team. We ALMOST scored two goals tonight. If we somehow make the playoffs, it'll be completely undeserved. We won't earn a spot, another team will choke worse than us. Offense doesn't want to shoot, defense doesn't want to hit, and our goaltenders can't win by themselves.
Eric Staal had a wide-open net tonight, yet he decides to pass it back to Justin Williams. Perfect summary of our entire season.
OT: I know this is unnecessary, but this damn Chevy commercial that we've all seen trillions of times annoys the complete crap out of me because it takes those John Mellencamp lyrics completely out of context and makes the song sound like some xenophobic jingoist trash. I'm not a Mellencamp fan, but I do like his social commentary, etc. so the misrepresentation in that ubėr-patriotic commercial annoys me
What will really make you laugh is that they run the same commercial in Canada, only with Canadian imagery (Bobby Orr, Newfoundland lighthouses, kids playing hockey, the Prairies, etc.).
Well, I spent my last morning in Iraq witnessing (on Yahoo) a Canes shut out. Flipping yay.
Anyhoot, I hope to be back in High Point Friday night , but I'll have to make a stop in San Diego first :-| . I'll get to watch some games this year! Woo hooo! Hockey Night In Canada by Saturday!
Hi. I'm an Islanders fan who lives in Raleigh - so I spend some time on this board. I didn't know you were in Iraq. Just wanted to say thanks for all you are doing for our country. It is much appreciated.
