It's a shame Lundqvists mates can't score more goals, he would have many more wins.

He's given the team every chance. Keep it going Henke.

Yeah, no one can fault him for the meltdown.

There have been a few weak goals scored on him, but hes made a few fantastic ones that make up for it so it evens out. Great numbers - good post.

I was wondering how he was stacking up to the league these past few months.

Keep it up Henke! All they have to do is get into the playoffs and Henke could steal a series on his own!

I think you missed the memo: Lundqvist sucks.

and what kills me is there are some people that are questioning his play and his ability bc the team hasnt been winning..... that stat above says volumes about his play considering just how bad our defense can be time to time.

Yeah, some people complain on him because of losses, yet the numbers clearly says he is the one giving the team a chance to win, not the other way around. If the team would have performed at least decent offensive numbers, we would have a secure playoff spot.

I dont think we needed these numbers to know that Henke isnt the problem with this team. However it is nice to see the numbers to back up what we all already know. Good post.

The real shame with Lundqvist for two years now is his defense.

You put a better defense in front of the guy and he'll get er done.

what're his save % stats like during that time period?

even after his struggles to start the season, he should finish strong and with good numbers. hopefully he starts out strong next year and keeps it up the whole way through.

Having a backup that the coaches feel they can trust might help a lot, as i'm sure that all the playing time has been responsible for at least a few of those "weak" goals.

I think we are also spoiled as well.

Posting a gaa. of 2.5 and a sv.pct just a shade under.910 isn't bad when you consider the team in front of him and their lack of effort/defensive concentration.

If the Rangers future defense can ever actually develop to it's potential, Lundqvist is going to be putting up some amazing numbers.

What's the old saying? Build from the net out? The net's fine, it's the "out" we have a problem with.

Mara paired with Rachunek tonight. Oy...

Hence Staal, Sauer, Sanguinetti, Baranka, Tyutin, Girardi, etc etc etc

our core defense is going to be amazing in the future, i just question our offensive ability, that may have to be built through free agency. when do A.O. and Crosby become free agents again?

Top line talent is going to be a concern, but the way things are heading I'm starting to wonder if that talent is almost the last thing you add after you have your defense and support players in place.

Though I think this is the summer you potentially make a move.
