GDT: March 1/07 Edmonton vs. Minnesota

(30-28-6)
vs.

(35-23-6)

JUST BECAUSE SMYTH IS GONE IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE LOST OUR PRIDE AS WELL!!!

After a dissapointing emotionless game on Tuesday, I fully expect the team to come out flying tonight with something to prove. Should be a great game with Minnesota fighting for position in the playoffs and the Oilers fighting for thier pride.

LINES
Edmonton
Pisani-Horcoff-Hemsky
Torres-Pouliot-Lupul
Thoresen-Sykora-Peterson
Jacques-Reasoner-Stortini

Hejda-Smith
Smid-Staois
Roy-Greene

Roloson

Minnesota
Bouchard-Koivu-Rolston
Parrish-White-Hall
Demitra-Walz-Gaborik
Boogaard-Smith-Radivojevic

Schultz-Johnsson
Skoula-Foster
Carney-Burns

Backstrom

OILERS 4 - WILD 2
STORTINI 1 - BOOGAARD 0

Let the wacky hijinks commence!

I'll be very interested to see if the crowd's any less hostile tonight, or will they turn ugly the moment the game starts to go sideways...

Been there for the last few games. Has looked good, but I'm surprised that JFJ bumps Raff off that line. It's easily been our best.

backstrom injured. not to be an a**h**e but is it bad? HOw long is fernandez still out for? Haha maybe our luck is turning around. Minny with a third string goalie..hopefully they begin to fall and we start winning some games on pure desperation..maybe im being waaaaaaay to optimistic.

GO OIL!!!

I hope they come out flying, and I hope the fans don't turn & leave in the 2nd again if they don't score etc. I don't think any of their heads were in the game on Tuesday...they all seemed like they were in shock (just like the rest of us).

I never did hear what Smid injured (or should I say Boogard injured..) or how long he is out for...could someone fill me in?

Line of the week.
I think we'd be lucky if it was Sykora - but I think it'll be a more vital player like Roloson or Horcoff.

I like the JFJ-MAP-Lupul line might as well play the heck out of those guys now and get the young guys some valuable experience and maybe finally really get Joffrey going.

Mac T's lines have no rhyme or reason anymore. I think he's forgotten about winning and is just going to roll four lines to let the youngsters get fair time. It must be killing him. Mac T relied on Smyth a lot, and he knows the ripple effect of losing him makes every single forward worse.

I'm excited to see the Jacques-Pouliot-Lupul line. Jacques hasn't done much in an Oilers uniform and he's been brutal at times but this is his first chance to play in a more offensive role so hopefully he responds.

I'll guess 4-2 Minny... just as Bergeron scores a goal for the Isles
