I was gonna put a "no childish comments (he sucks etc)" but I thought people here were classy enough to show respect for a guy who gave everything he had for this club. Man am I naive.

im not being childish nor am i joking. the guys game has dropped of tremendously since last year. hes slow, and that is crucial for a guy who lives on his physicality. if you cant catch guys to hit them, and your whole game is based on hitting people, youre in trouble.

lets be honest here, Kaspar just isnt the same guy.

True.

However, he's also been incredibly classy and showed what it's all about to be a team player since he's been here - especially starting with the offseason before last year through today. His work with Tyutin was great and his statements upon being demoted were even better.

I hope we have room for him in the organization wearing a jacket and tie next year.

So? All that's obvious and doesn't have anything to do with my question, so what's the point of bringing it up? Again, show some respect for the guy. He's not in the lineup anymore so there's no need to bash him.

Rangers general manager Glen Sather stuck by his contention that he wouldn't trade any of the organization's top prospects before the Tuesday deadline.

But Wolf Pack general manager and coach Jim Schoenfeld will be scrambling with Sather and his staff to get the 22-man Clear Day roster - those players eligible for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs - finalized by the AHL's 3 p.m. Thursday deadline

The Rangers needed to send down Girardi and Valiquette yesterday to make them eligible for the AHL playoffs. They are just paper transactions

The follow-up question is "are junior players then eligible for the ahl playoffs if they are not on the roster on clear day?"

The answer is yes. Staal, Sauer, etc. will be eligible should management want them (after their junior season/playoffs are completed)

the fact he was sent down might have something to do with it

The fact that Kaspar can't stay healthy. The fact that Kaspar is no longer an NHL calibre skater. The fact that he's been sent down is a pretty good indication.

You can hate Malik all you want but he's a NHL defenseman. At this point in his career Kaspar is not.

He should some respect and give some of that paycheck back to the garden for what he called playing hockey this year.

Why? He didn't put a gun to Sather's head and demand that he cut him a contract everyone in the hockey world knew was ridiculous in both its length and size. Kaspar is doing everything he can to earn his contract--it's not his fault that his body can no longer sustain his type of play.

Mods, you can close the thread now, I've got my answer. I'd rather not have this thread turned into a flame fest.
