Yashin for Madano.

Madano's contract's shorter.

Yashin's been the healthier of the two.

Modano would bring you half the world if you played your cards right.

well, all they'd have to do would be to send god back in return. How about this proposal:

To Ott: Modano
To Dal: Pope John Paul II

I don't know. I can't really see the Pope providing tenacious backchecking AND having the hockey sense to net those pucks. The only thing I can see that's equatable is their fragility, but that's as far as it goes.

Don't count your blessings (no pun intended) - Dallas wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot rosemary.

Ahh but all the pope would have to do would be to tell the referee that he was slashed and that he's bleeding and given that he's infallible they would have to believe him and award his team a PP for 4 minutes.

Sorry, a 33 year old center making 9 mil with a -17 isn't all that. Teams don't deal for the previous 11 seasons.

Ten foot rosemary ? I think you mean rosary. Unless you did mean to include a reference to a oversized aromatic Mediterranean shrub.

I disagree.. there are numerous deals every year involving a player that has played very well in the past but is simply struggling that season. While Modano's contract makes most deals unlikely, a lot of teams would be interested in him at the expense of one of their high priced superstars..

My bad. I'm studying for exams; my vocabulary only consists of business law terms.

Aside from the Pope who likely would not clear waivers would he net something more or less than a Zetterberg or a havlat. I like other are not sure what a 33 year old in his worst year is worth but if the answer is Zetterberg/havlat plus then the stars should consider it given their age and their payroll.

All kidding aside....I do think there would be some teams that would seriously go after Modano if he is available(eg Stars are out of the playoff picture by a wide margin nearing the trade deadline). I could see a team like Detroit going after him for sure, but I dout the Stars would trade their franchise player to their bitter conference rivals. St Louis would be an interesting destination for Modano, but again I doubt the Stars will trade him to the better Western Conference teams.

Not sure about Modano but I'd love to see Lehtinen in Montreal playing with Koivu. I know they have a great chemistry. But that's another story and trade speculation. Obviously Dallas isn't trading their MVP (Lehtinen that is)?

Puhlease. If there is one person that is worth 9 million, it's Modo. Any team that was really commited to winning the cup this year would trade for him reguardless of the CBA implications.

Bonk, and Schastlivy for Modano...

Sens get a #1 center until Spezza is ready...Sens get a centerman who's actually realized the season has started at 1/3 the price and a potential top line winger who needs a change of address.

I will now bend over and take my 20 lashes from M=G

Modano for CuJo?

Seriously though, I don't see the Stars shopping him. But if they did I could see the Caps offering up Jagr, the Rangers offering up Lindros, and all the usual suspects when a big money guy like that were on the market.

But, how about this one:

Roenick for Modano

JR is supposedly having issues with Hitchcock.................

I think Havlat probably has to be the starting point for the stars to even consider a deal.
