Hamrlik

If he's available, I say the Habs should make a move. He's a great talent and would help our PP immensely. In my opinion, he's exactly the kind of player the Habs need -- a solid puck-moving defenseman with speed who can hold his own physically.

I'm not sure what it would take to get him, but a roster defenseman and a prospect would be a good start. How about:

Hamrlik for Hainsey, Rivet, and a second-round pick

Isles get a veteran character defenseman and a guy who could develop along the same lines as Hamrlik. I'd even eat some of Rivet's salary to do this deal.

1) Islander is trying to trade Hamrlik because they want to dump salary
2) Habs won't sacrafice youth for veteran
3) Rivet is carrying high contract

No deal.

Valu wise that trade isn't bad, but personally I don't want to see the habs make any trades which increases the age of the team.

I would love to see the habs add Hamrlik to the team, but without sacrificing youth, and since without sacrificing youth we can't add Hamrlik.......

Like I said, I'd eat part of Rivet's contract if that were necessary. Hamrlik would be worth it.

That's just an assumption.

It would have to be a lopsided trade to have two teams from the same conference, that could be fighting for the same playoff spot, swing a deal.

I hope we do not acquire Hamrlik. While he has some offensive skills, he brings little else.

Zero character, grit or toughness.. things we so desperately need on this club.

I'd rather give a chance to a younger prospect, and try to fill the voids we have up front, instead.

It has been written many times, by players and the media, that Roman is a problem in the locker room as well.

Edmonton, Tampa.. and now the Islanders...he has worn out his welcome in a few teams already.
