OT Slapshot remake

I guess it was only a matter of time....

So who plays the Hanson brothers or are they back (ideal)?

This'll suck, I bet.

I'll still see it, though.

I also think it will suck, but I'll end up buying it when it comes out on DVD.

It's going to totally suck. The original is a classic. I'm sure neither the ECHL or NHL are going to be happy about it. It's not a movie that exactly shows hockey in a good light.

For the record, the movie is way better in French than English.

I sure hope he was joking about Eddie Murphy.

Denis Leary could be a decent choice as Reggie Dunlap, or at least a role in it.

He's actually the first person I thought of...plus he can actually skate.

I don't know, I love Paul Newman so I might be biased.

A lot of people tell me that, but I've never found it true. I've seen it in both languages over 10 times, and I've always liked the english version better. Maybe it's cuz I can't stand the dub.

Cuba Gooding Jr. could be a good choice to be in the movie, he's suppose to be a pretty good hockey player and can be funny as hell.

Who else in Hollywood as a strong hockey background?

Here's one with a movie tie-in:

Who has the most wins as a pro hockey coach, after Bowman?

The whole concept is getting a little old to be honest. We've seen/heard about the Hanson brothers for 30 years, and their schtick gets tiresome.

Some off the top of my head that I've seen skate in different charity games.

Eddie Cahill: Played Jim Craig (Miracle)
DB Sweeney: Played Doug Dorsey (Cutting Edge)
Russell Crowe: Played Sheriff John Biebe ( Mystery Alaska)
Stephen Baldwin: Slap Shot 2

Jason Priestley(90210) Dennis Leary (Comedian), Dave Coulier (Full House) Richard Dean Anderson (Mac Gyver) all Play in the Hollywood Charity games

This is complete BS.You simply cannot remake a cult classic like this. This is heresy and whoever decided to go ahead with this project shall burn in hell for eternity.I'm sick to death of all these hollywood remakes.

Don't touch the classics !!!!!

Leary as Dunlop would be brutal. He may be able to skate but he doesn't skate well.

Neither could Paul Newman, but with some special effects...they could make Leary look like Pavel Bure.

Well they can make the same movie with the exact same crew... That will be funny!

I would actually like to see that....but old people don't heal well. If any of the old actors fell while trying to skate on the ice....they might break a hip.
