Huet and Price, by the end of the year Price is playing the bulk of the games and the #1 come playoff time and for the following season.

Abby gone as a UFA, Halak the number 1 in Hamilton to be the #2 the year after when Huet is done his contract.

Its a dream, I hope it comes true though!!!

I definitely don't want to see Price in Montreal next year, and needlessly burn up a year towards unrestricted free-agency. He needs experience against pro shooters, and I'll be willing to give him as much time as he needs. It definitely is very nice to have 2 quality young goalies in the stable, who are relatively the same age (Halak and Price). It think it gives us stability, and doesn't make us panic necessarily if one falters. It's almost like the Theodore/Garon situation from 2000.

I think Huet/Halak is the way to go, no question. Give Price a year in the AHL

Huet
Danis

Leighton
Price

I think Halak gets traded at the draft with a 1st rounder, Perez and Ryder for Lecavalier.
A man can dream can't he.

Huet will be the guy

After that, its up in the air.

Carey Price will be in the AHL and with halak and danis already there, it will be interesting what comes out of that.

If Gainey is going to get a proven backup, Danis might be gone.... and I dont know if the team is ready to give up on him.

Aside from the Souray/Markov question marks, the goaltending decisions in the off season will be interesting too.

Huet and Halak...but you never know. Price was the best goalie at camp this season, and something tells me the kid won't need a big stint in the A to figure out the pro level. He's that ready.

Danis is a UFA

I don't know if Danis wilkl resign, but all of you that think he's going to be the backup must remember that he was sought after my several teams in college.

Since Les Habs have not given him much of a chance to play in the NHL, why would he re-sign with them?

Cary Price was the best goalie out of camp last year according to many players. His mental maturity seems miles ahead of a regular 19 year old.

Gainey has options, depending if Danis is signed.

1) Huet and a fight between Danis and Halak for the backup.
2) Huet and Halak with Price in the AHL if Danis doesn't resign.
3) Huet and a veteran goalie with Halak and Price in the AHL
4) Huet and Price with Halak and Leighton in the AHL

Hey if Price is ready....let him play 20 games in the NHL next year!!!
